Police control scrap yard fire in midday sun

At noon on May 7, a fire broke out at a scrap yard behind a house used as a scrap yard in alley 261, Dinh Phong Phu street, Tang Nhon Phu B ward, Thu Duc city, Ho Chi Minh city. The yard contained many items such as plastic bottles and nylon bags, so the fire broke out strongly, spread widely, creating a column of black smoke that caused suffocation.

People shouted to move their property because they feared the fire in the alley would spread to their houses.

People living in the alley were afraid that the fire would spread to their houses, so they called on their relatives to move their belongings out of the house. Many people used fire extinguishers to approach and put out the fire, but could not stop the fire.

The Fire Prevention and Fighting Team of Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City Police mobilized vehicles and officers to the scene to connect water hoses to approach the fire. The Fire Prevention and Fighting Police cordoned off the area to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring houses. After a short time, the fire was brought under control.

At the time of the fire, people inside the scrap yard managed to escape in time, so no lives were lost. The cause and damage caused by the fire are being investigated.
