Ministry of Science and Technology offers incense to commemorate heroic martyrs of the Postal sector and inaugurates the Traditional House of Postal Delivery - Information in Tay Ninh

On August 23, 2025, at the Postal Martyrs Cemetery (Tan Bien District, Tay Ninh Province), the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) solemnly held an incense offering ceremony to commemorate the heroic martyrs of the Postal sector on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of independence, the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, the 80th anniversary of the Postal Sector's Traditional Day and the 66th anniversary of the Science and Technology Sector's Traditional Day.

The R Postal and Information Service Martyrs' Cemetery was built in 1985 on an area of ​​1.2 hectares, as a resting place for nearly 250 martyrs of the "R" Postal and Information Service and the Restoration Area of ​​the Postal and Communications Department Base, the Central Southern Department of Information and Communications, which started construction on December 16, 2012 and was inaugurated on January 18, 2014 on a 2,100 m2 land area managed and cared for by Ho Chi Minh City Telecommunications. These are two red addresses, traditional educational destinations that are very meaningful for trips back to the source, sightseeing, and outdoor study of the younger generation, especially the next generation of the Postal Service.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Minister of Science and Technology emphasized: Before the heroic martyrs, on behalf of the Ministry's leaders, the Minister would like to express his deep gratitude to the relatives of the martyrs' families, those who contributed to the revolution, generations of cadres of the Post and Science and Technology sectors through the periods, and the attention and coordination of the Party Committee, government and people of Tay Ninh province and Tan Bien district.

The war has ended, but the memories and pain remain. Many generations of fathers and brothers have fallen to gain independence and protect the country, including tens of thousands of cadres and workers in the Post and Science and Technology sectors. They lived and fought for the noble ideals: Independence, freedom and happiness of the people.

"Today's incense sticks are a determined promise of all cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers in the Post and Telecommunications and Science and Technology sector: Inheriting and promoting the heroic, indomitable tradition, solidarity, creativity, dedication, and loyalty. With the motto of action 'Setting an example, Discipline, Focus, Breakthrough', the entire sector vows to strive to excellently complete all tasks, contributing to building and protecting the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland".

The Minister also expressed his deep gratitude to the Provincial Party Committee, People's Committee, Fatherland Front and mass organizations of Tay Ninh province, Tan Bien district, along with VNPT units and Vietnam Post Corporation for regularly taking care of and preserving nearly 250 martyrs' graves at the cemetery, so that this place is always spacious, warm and clean.

The Minister reiterated the moral of "When drinking water, remember its source", affirming that today's peace is the result of the blood and bones of fallen generations. Science, technology, innovation and digital transformation have developed as they are today, imbued with the spirit and soul of heroic martyrs. Our responsibility is to continue writing the story of our generation, building a strong and prosperous Vietnam, with enough strength to protect the Fatherland, for lasting peace, for the country to develop sustainably."

Immediately after the incense offering ceremony, in the series of activities "Returning to the source - Gratitude" to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the industry's tradition, the Ministry of Science and Technology held the inauguration ceremony of the nameplate of the Traditional House of Post and Information in Tay Ninh.

The project has a special history: The gate nameplate of the building was erected in December 2013, but after more than a decade it has deteriorated. In response to the wishes of veteran cadres and with the responsibility of preserving the relic, the Ministry of Science and Technology has directed the construction of a new, spacious and solemn nameplate.

The project has profound meaning: Expressing the gratitude of today's generation for the great sacrifice of their fathers and brothers; at the same time affirming the responsibility to preserve and embellish the "red addresses" - places to educate revolutionary traditions for future generations; contributing to making the relic more solemn, worthy of the historical value and important position of the Central Office for Southern Vietnam. The new nameplate will become a symbol of gratitude, contributing to honoring the historical value of the relic site.

Leaders of the Ministry, former leaders of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung and the delegation visited the Traditional House Area.

Within the framework of the event, continuing the tradition of "Drinking water, remember its source", the Ministry of Science and Technology and accompanying units have implemented many meaningful social security activities.

Specifically, the Ministry of Science and Technology has awarded the "Electronic Library" co-sponsored by the Hope Fund - VnExpress newspaper, worth VND1.275 billion, including 255 tablets and 510 online learning accounts to 9 schools, benefiting more than 5,300 students. The electronic library helps students access digital knowledge, innovate teaching and learning methods, and inspire creative learning spirit.

Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) donated 50 STEM sets for learning robotic programming, encouraging students’ passion for science and creativity. The learning kits allow students to assemble robots, program using the drag-and-drop method, perform basic math problems such as robots avoiding obstacles, following lines, and controlling by infrared remote control, etc.

In addition, with the spirit of "helping each other", the Trade Union of the Ministry of Science and Technology has prepared 110 gifts for poor households in Tay Ninh province, each worth 2 million VND (1 million VND in cash and 1 million VND in gifts).

These gratitude and sharing activities not only have material value but also demonstrate the responsibility, affection and heart of the science and technology sector towards historical traditions, martyrs' relatives and local people.
