Nam O fishing village (Hai Van ward, Da Nang city) is located 17km from the center of Da Nang city, nestled at the foot of Hai Van pass, beside the Cu De river mouth. This is an ancient fishing village with a history of over 700 years.

Each season, the rocky beach possesses its own unique beauty. In September, the beach attracts tourists who come to take photos thanks to its majestic yet romantic beauty. When the tide recedes, the black rock formations appear, stretching endlessly across the vast blue sea, captivating visitors from near and far.

While visiting the fishing village, Trinh Thi Thu Uyen (a tourist from Ninh Binh ) and her friends took many beautiful photos at the rocky beach.

"I learned about Nam O fishing village through social media, and during my summer trip to Da Nang, I decided to visit. The scenery here is so peaceful and beautiful, with rocks hidden in the water and waves lapping against the shore, creating an incredibly poetic and romantic scene. I will definitely visit the rocky beach again during the mossy season," shared Trinh Thi Thu Uyen.

In addition, the simple scenes of fishermen weaving nets and rowing basket boats in the fishing village evoke many indescribable emotions in tourists.

The art of making fish sauce is 400 years old.

Besides its pristine and majestic natural scenery, Nam O also attracts tourists with its renowned fish sauce making tradition, which is over 400 years old. Traditional fish sauce is the pride of the people of Nam O, and the craft has been recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Nam O fish sauce has a distinctive traditional flavor and is handcrafted. It is made from anchovies sourced from Tho Quang fishing port, marinated with Sa Huynh salt in a ratio of 3 parts fish to 1 part salt, and fermented in earthenware jars for 12-15 months.

From Nam O fish sauce, locals have also created a unique beverage from a familiar Vietnamese drink - fish sauce coffee. The creator of this novel drink is Mr. Bui Thanh Phu, owner of Huong Lang Co fish sauce production facility.

Driven by his love for his family's traditional fish sauce making and a desire to introduce his hometown's product to more people, Phu has experimented and created a unique beverage.

"Fish sauce coffee" is made from roasted and ground coffee and a layer of rich cream. The unique feature of this drink is the powdered fish sauce, concentrated from Nam O fish sauce, sprinkled on top of the rich cream.

"The concentrated fish sauce powder has a mild, delicate flavor, without the strong smell of traditional fish sauce. Therefore, it creates a smooth, mellow taste and neutralizes the sour aftertaste of the coffee, offering a unique flavor experience for visitors," shared Mr. Bui Thanh Phu.

Thanks to its long-standing cultural heritage and stories of preserving traditional products, the Nam O fish sauce village regularly welcomes many domestic and international tourists who come to visit and learn about the craft.
