Cao Pendant Quang Vinh: France will beat Iraq 2-0

Vietnamese-French player Cao Pendant Quang Vinh predicts that Kylian Mbappe and his teammates will score and win against Iraq in the second match of Group I at the 2026 World Cup.

Born in France, Vietnamese-French player Cao Pendant Quang Vinh spent many years playing professionally there before returning to Vietnam. He has faced Theo Hernandez and was a former teammate of Marcus Thuram, Ibrahima Konate, Maxence Lacroix, and the current European Ballon d'Or winner, Osmane Dembele.

Speaking to Tuổi Trẻ before the match, Quang Vinh said: "Iraq will prepare thoroughly and try to create as many difficulties as possible for the French team. But I believe France has the ability to score early."

As a title contender, the French national team showcased their strength in their opening match of the 2026 World Cup , defeating Senegal 3-1 on June 17th. Captain Kylian Mbappe scored a brace in the 66th and 90+6th minutes, and Bradley Barcola added a goal in the 82nd minute.

Cao Pendant Quang Vinh, born in 1997, has a French father and a Vietnamese mother. He plays as a wing-back and center-back, developing in the professional football environment of France, and has represented France's U16 and U18 youth teams in European youth tournaments.

During his many years playing in Ligue 2, Cao Quang Vinh captained FC Sochaux and faced many big stars of French football.
