For the past 25 years, "Road to Olympia" has not only been a television competition, but also a journey of conquering the pinnacle of knowledge for countless generations of Vietnamese students. Among them is the mother-son pair, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Ha and Mr. Do Anh Minh.
Nguyen Thuy Ha is one of the contestants in the Road to Olympia competition. This contestant, from Phu Xuyen A High School, Ha Tay province, made her first appearance in Olympia 1, with her first competition being Week 1, Month 2, Quarter 4.

Similarly, Anh Minh's son, a student at Vinschool Primary, Secondary, and High School in Hanoi, is participating in the 25th season of "Road to Olympia."
Seeing her child standing in the exact same spot she had stood 25 years earlier brought tears to Ms. Ha's eyes. She confided, " On one hand, I remember myself from the past. On the other hand, I feel emotional and proud because my child has achieved the goal of standing on the Olympia stage. It's a continuation, a tradition, between two generations."
In the Week 3, Month 3, Quarter 3 competition, Anh Minh finished in second place. Watching her son from the audience, Ms. Thuy Ha said that her son was a little disappointed, but she thought it was a good result.
"When children are young, if they're always in first place, they can easily become complacent. Sometimes, not reaching the top is what helps them grow," Ms. Ha said.
Having experienced both the pressure and joy of Olympia herself, Ms. Ha understands that the most important thing is not the result. She hopes her son learns to accept failure, knows how to get back up, and keep trying. The result is only a part of it; what she cares about most is her son's mindset.
Anh Minh believes that being in first place also brings great pressure, while coming in second gives him a chance to reflect on himself and continue striving for improvement in the future. Recalling his journey to the competition, Anh Minh said: "My mother told me many stories about her experiences participating in Olympia. Despite the stress, she remained confident and performed well, even reaching the monthly round. That motivated me even more."

With his mother's support and encouragement, Anh Minh has become increasingly confident in participating in many other intellectual competitions. Although he felt a little disappointed about coming in second place in the weekly competition, he was still satisfied that he had tried his best. The two of them laughed together when Ms. Ha recalled that back then, "Mom also only came in second place."
The story of Thuy Ha and Anh Minh is just one of many stories that show that the "Road to Olympia" program is not only a place to challenge knowledge, but also a memory, an extension of passion across generations, where the spirit of learning is passed from mother to child in the most beautiful and natural way.
