The Global Dairy Congress 2024, themed "Healthy People - Healthy Planet," took place in the UK from June 25th to 27th, bringing together over 200 representatives from countries around the world to discuss the role and contribution of the dairy industry to the sustainable development of life, people, and the planet.

A billion-dollar brand, representing the spirit of Vietnam.

As the sole representative of Vietnam at the conference, Vinamilk presented a story of innovation as a billion-dollar brand representing Vietnam and integrating with global trends.

Sharing his thoughts on this year's theme and presentations, Richard Hall, chairman of the Global Dairy Conference, said that businesses need to create high-quality and innovative products that demonstrate the nutritional benefits of milk for human health.

"In addition, there is the awareness and action towards sustainable development for the planet. A typical example is Vinamilk's sharing of their strategies, with their Green Farms and Green Farm products," Mr. Richard Hall emphasized and provided evidence.

He considered this a prime example of the value that nature can bring to a product, thanks to the company's efforts to reduce emissions from farms, from the product itself, and many other aspects of the value chain.

Towards a change of mindset - towards sustainable development

This year, Vinamilk contributed a presentation with the message "Care to change" to the Branding for Future discussion section at the conference.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Tri, Marketing Executive Director of Vinamilk, shared insights into strategic innovations across four directions: future generations, better nutrition, customer experience, and a sustainable future.

Mr. Tri believes these aspects will create momentum for the strong development of the company and the dairy industry in general within the global context.

"We changed for you – that's the strong affirmation from Vinamilk and also our commitment to the community when launching our new brand identity. Changing a brand that has been established for nearly half a century was a challenging decision for us. And the reality has shown that the change has been received beyond expectations."

In terms of providing groundbreaking nutritional solutions, Mr. Tri cited the example of Vinamilk Green Farm fresh milk product line. This product utilizes dual vacuum packaging technology, preserving the natural aroma, subtle hints of herbs and flowers, and a sweet aftertaste. Green Farm is a continuation of Vinamilk's journey in building a "new world," initiating a series of innovation campaigns across other product lines.

Regarding the strategy to upgrade the customer experience, Mr. Tri said that applying technology that allows for flexible switching between online and offline will ensure that the company's customers have a consistent experience regardless of their location.

Regarding Vinamilk's sustainable development story, Dr. Timothy Robinson, independent advisor to the Dairy Sustainable Development Framework (DSF), highly praised the results and considered Vinamilk a prime example of the Vietnamese dairy industry aiming for Net Zero.

"In the future, I expect more coordination and cooperation between Vietnam and the Global Dairy Industry Initiative on Net Zero (Pathways to Dairy Net Zero), as well as deeper participation in the Dairy Sustainable Development Framework, to provide more support for Vinamilk's and Vietnam's programs," said Dr. Timothy Robinson.

Vinamilk is among the top 5 most sustainable dairy brands globally.

As one of the top 5 most sustainable dairy brands globally, sustainable development is mentioned as one of the main goals in Vinamilk's strategy. In 2023, to mark this important milestone, the company officially announced its Net Zero target roadmap to 2050.

Less than a year after announcing this roadmap, the company now has three units, including one farm and two factories, certified as carbon neutral according to PAS2060:2014 standards. Vinamilk is also the first company in Vietnam to register and support the global dairy industry initiative on Net Zero - Pathways to Dairy Net Zero. This achievement received significant attention at the conference.
