When the final whistle blew at the end of the match between the Vietnamese and Singaporean national teams at Viet Tri Stadium ( Phu Tho province ), Singapore's naturalized midfielder Kyoga Nakamura covered his face and burst into tears, collapsing on the field.

He missed the first leg at home due to receiving two yellow cards in the group stage. In the second leg, the midfielder played smoothly, connecting well with Singapore's midfield. Midfielder Kyoga Nakamura became a Singaporean citizen in October, after being persuaded by coach Ogura. The two previously worked together at the Japanese club JEF United Chiba.

With his limited height (1.65m), Kyoga Nakamura is less adept at tackling and quick passing. He possesses the good tactical awareness typical of a Japanese player.

Nakamura was born in 1996 in Japan and previously played for his home country's national team at the FIFA U17 World Cup. At the club level, Nakamura primarily played in J-League 2 and 3 before moving to Singapore in 2019 to play for Albirex Niigata, and he now plays for Tampines Rovers, a top Singaporean team.

In the 74th minute, the midfielder wearing the numbered jersey scored to reduce the deficit to 1-2 with a beautiful left-footed shot from about 25 meters. Goalkeeper Dinh Trieu dived but could not save the goal.

Shortly after, the left-footed player dribbled from the right into the penalty area and shot with his left foot, but it went straight to the Vietnamese goalkeeper.

During the match, the Singapore team created several opportunities to threaten the Vietnamese goal, but all of them remained mere chances.

Sofascore rated Kyoga Nakamura 7.7 points, a very high score compared to the average score of Singaporean players. Kyoga Nakamura is an important midfielder under coach Ogura thanks to his all-around playing style.

However, Singapore's efforts were hampered by two fouls in the penalty area by their defenders. Xuan Son and Tien Linh then scored to seal the match, resulting in a 5-1 aggregate victory for Vietnam over Singapore in the semi-final.

The sadness and joy of football in the match on the afternoon of December 29th at Viet Tri Stadium.

Nakamura possesses good basic technique and is strong in transitioning into counter-attacks. Previously, Kyoga Nakamura played the full 90 minutes in the first three group stage matches: a 2-1 win against Cambodia and a 3-0 win against Timor Leste, a 2-4 loss against Thailand, and the final 32 minutes of the 0-0 draw away against Malaysia.
