Real Madrid players are unhappy with Alonso.

Midfielder Dani Ceballos expressed disappointment at not being given a chance to play by coach Xabi Alonso in Real Madrid's 1-1 draw against Al Hilal in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ on June 19th.

Ceballos was angry with Alonso for not being given enough playing time.

Despite being included in the matchday squad and warming up outside the pitch, Ceballos was the only fully fit first-team player who wasn't used at all. According to SPORT , Ceballos was extremely disappointed at being overlooked by Alonso.

Ceballos was hoping the match against Al Hilal would be an opportunity to impress. Given Real's disjointed first half and lack of ideas in midfield, Ceballos's exclusion from the starting lineup came as a surprise to fans.

Under coach Carlo Ancelotti, Ceballos gradually found his way into the starting lineup towards the end of the season. He brought fluidity and creativity to the midfield – something Real often lacked when Modric or Kroos were not on the field.

However, it seems Alonso has no plans to use Ceballos. Instead, he prefers Arda Guler to take on a creative role alongside Modric, even though the Croatian midfielder is set to leave. Furthermore, Alonso is urging the club to sign another midfielder. This move suggests Ceballos is not part of the Spanish manager's long-term plans.

Given the current situation, Ceballos is ready to consider leaving. This isn't the first time he's expressed his intention to leave Bernabeu, but in the past, interested clubs were unable to meet Real Madrid's asking price.

Real Betis want to bring him back, but the problem lies in the finances. Real value the midfielder at 20 million euros, while his actual market value is only around 10 million euros.
