The Apple CEO also shared his thoughts on management and "safeguards." He argued that management will have a difficult time even as progress is made because AI is developing so rapidly. Therefore, he believes the company itself has a responsibility to adapt.
Last week, several tech leaders, including OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis, and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, signed a joint statement on the risks of AI.
On June 5th, Apple held its WWDC 2023 developer event, where it showcased new applications of machine learning technology for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, as well as improved AI tools for automatic error correction and spell checking in texting, and more comprehensive facial recognition to identify friends, family, and pets in photos.
