Taking care of plants, welcoming tourists.

In recent years, instead of focusing solely on harvest productivity, many farmers have begun transforming their fields and gardens into spaces for tourists to visit, take photos, and relax. This trend of combining agriculture with tourism offers interesting experiences for visitors from all over, contributing to increased production value for local people.

Refreshing the orchard

In Van Chan commune, the model of Ms. Ha Thi Lien in Dong Sat village is a prime example of innovative thinking. On an area of 2,000 m2 with more than 50 grapefruit trees planted decades ago, she skillfully transformed the orchard into a lush green resort. She built 7 gazebos under the grapefruit trees, decorated the pathways with flowers and foliage, and added a touch of gentle fragrance with the grapefruit blossoms each season. Since 2024, the family has invested in a swimming pool to complete the resort's services. In 2023, the model began welcoming its first guests. To date, Ms. Lien's grapefruit orchard in the countryside has attracted many visitors from various localities, bringing stable income and spiritual joy to the owner.

Also in Van Chan district, Mr. Nguyen The Hung in Ha Thinh village chose a different path with his strawberry "mini farm." With over 5,000 square meters of cultivated land, during the ripening season, the garden not only serves as a harvesting area but also transforms into a "mini farm" for tourists to visit and experience. As the only household growing strawberries in the area, Mr. Hung's strawberry garden attracts the curiosity and interest of many people. He allows visitors to pick and enjoy ripe strawberries right in the garden. Mr. Nguyen The Hung shared: "On weekends, many families bring their children here so they can experience the joy of picking strawberries themselves. Tet (Lunar New Year) is also the strawberry season, so many visitors come to our garden during the holiday."

Create a check-in spot with colorful flowers.

Every spring, flower gardens and peach orchards become familiar stops for locals and tourists. In Dong Loi residential area, Cau Thia ward, Ms. Dinh Thi Nga has invested in growing flowers on an area of about 1,000 m². Besides the flower beds for the market, she also dedicates space to planting impatiens and sunflowers, creating a vibrant landscape for sightseeing and photography. The area planted with impatiens alone occupies about 400-500 m², stretching out into soft, eye-catching flower carpets.

When the flowers are in full bloom, the garden welcomes dozens of visitors every day. Amidst the open space, the golden hues of sunflowers and the pinkish-purple blossoms blend with the clear blue spring sky, creating a fresh and vibrant rural landscape. For the locals, this is not just a place to take photos at the beginning of the year, but also a place to find peace, to immerse themselves in the familiar beauty of their homeland as spring arrives.

In Trung Tam ward, the traditional peach blossom cultivation is being elevated into a tourism product. Mr. Hoang Van Be, a peach blossom grower with 30 years of experience, said that people now focus on beautifying the landscape to welcome tourists instead of just selling branches and trees as before. To create a stronger impetus, the local government has begun to take action. In the spring of 2026, Trung Tam ward implemented the "Peach Blossom Garden in Spring" model with the participation of 80 households, planned on an area of 40 hectares with tens of thousands of peach trees. The households cooperated to improve the quality of the gardens, maintain environmental hygiene, and build a friendly and civilized image.

Ms. Vu Thi Thanh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Trung Tam Ward, shared: "This model is not simply about developing the economy through agricultural production, but also a way to effectively utilize agricultural land and interspersed land within residential areas. With over 400 hectares of fruit trees, the locality has identified agricultural tourism as a sustainable direction to effectively exploit land resources and promote the image of the homeland, aiming towards a 'four-season farm' model."

Farmers' practice of "cultivating crops to welcome guests" has created a double benefit: increasing economic returns per unit area while providing a relaxing space for the community. Each harvest season is now not just about reaping agricultural products, but also about harvesting new opportunities.
