This year, summer activities will be implemented from May 31st to the end of August, linked to the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign and the "For Our Beloved Children" movement. Along with maintaining summer activity centers in residential areas, the Youth Union at all levels will focus on mobilizing resources to care for disadvantaged children, children in mountainous areas, ethnic minority regions, border areas, and islands; and intensifying propaganda on accident and injury prevention, drowning prevention, and equipping children with digital skills and self-protection skills.

Quang Ninh currently has 9 border communes and wards. These are the areas prioritized by the Provincial Youth Union for the implementation of the "Vietnamese Youth Accompanying Children and Youth in Border Areas Project, 2025-2030". A series of activities caring for disadvantaged children have been implemented by all levels of the Youth Union since the beginning of the year. In Duong Hoa and Quang Duc communes, projects such as "Computer Rooms for Children" and "Reading, Interactive and Youth Union Activity Spaces" have been invested in, supplementing the learning and living conditions for students in border areas before the summer break.
Activities caring for children continued to expand during the 2026 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign. The Provincial People's Committee Youth Union inaugurated the "Smart TV Classroom" youth project at Nam Son Primary and Secondary School (Ba Che commune), supplementing equipment for teaching and learning for students in mountainous areas. In Vinh Thuc island commune, the Youth and Women's Committees of the Provincial Police organized the "Zero-Cost Booth - For the Peace of the Mining Region" program, donating a playground and physical activity area for children along with scholarships for students who overcome difficulties and excel in their studies. These implemented projects have improved the learning, playing, and living conditions for children in disadvantaged areas.

Alongside investing in infrastructure, the Youth Union at all levels continues to innovate the content of summer activities, focusing on increasing experiential learning and skill development. The "Digital Literacy Movement" is integrated into summer activities, helping children, especially those in rural and mountainous areas, become familiar with digital technology and artificial intelligence. Many models such as "Summer Classes of Love," "Weekend Playgrounds," and "Children's Festivals" are implemented with the participation of Youth Union members and student volunteers, creating an environment for children to learn, interact, and develop skills.
In addition, child protection is given special attention. Youth Union branches coordinate with the police, health , and military forces to organize campaigns to prevent drowning, injuries, and child abuse; provide guidance on first aid skills, water safety skills, and safe internet use. Each commune-level Youth Union strives to organize at least one large-scale activity at the commune level and 2 to 3 free swimming lessons for children during the summer.

According to Nguyen Vu, Deputy Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Youth Union, the Youth Union always considers caring for children, especially those in disadvantaged areas, as a regular task in its volunteer campaigns. This year's summer activities are designed to enhance experiences, equip children with skills, and create a safe learning and playing environment so that all children have the opportunity to develop comprehensively. With the involvement of all levels of the Youth Union and the support of agencies, units, businesses, and philanthropists, the summer of 2026 is bringing many opportunities for learning, playing, and experiencing for children in disadvantaged areas, ensuring that all children have a safe, enriching, and meaningful summer.
