Hero of the People's Armed Forces Nguyen Vu Minh Nguyet - a woman who lived through the brutal years of war - still lives quietly and dedicates herself with a simple belief: to repay the homeland that sheltered her during those days of bombs and bullets.
Ms. Nguyen Vu Minh Nguyet is currently the Head of Bao Nguyet Notary Office (Hai Chau Ward, Da Nang City). Despite being over 70 years old, this heroine dedicates her remaining years to charitable trips to mountainous regions and journeys to the roots, donating meaningful gifts to families receiving government assistance… This is a journey of giving filled with love from a female veteran who once crossed the line between life and death in war, continuing to contribute to life today.

The heroine of compassion.
Beyond the prestigious title recognizing her contributions in combat, Nguyen Vu Minh Nguyet has also earned the admiration of many for her tireless philanthropic work over the years. With a warm heart and profound gratitude, she always dedicates special attention to the work of "showing gratitude and repaying kindness" - a precious tradition of the nation.
She spent nearly 200 million VND to order flower arrangements and replace the flowers three times at 800 graves of martyrs in the Nong Son commune martyrs' cemetery (formerly Que Loc commune). Each flower is a thank you, a profound expression of gratitude to her former comrades and the generations of ancestors who sacrificed for today's peace .
For her, it wasn't just a duty, but a responsibility of someone who had been sheltered by her homeland during difficult times. In that rural area, she grew up amidst the flames of war, facing danger every day, yet still protected and cared for by the people. Therefore, when life had stabilized, when titles and achievements were no longer the pursuit, what she chose was to return, to express her gratitude and share her legacy.
On every major holiday, Mrs. Nguyet personally visits and gives gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and wounded soldiers, bringing simple yet heartwarming gifts and words of encouragement filled with affection. These trips are unannounced, without any formal ceremony; just seeing the recipients' eyes light up brings her a sense of peace.
As an active member of the Da Nang City Women Entrepreneurs Association, this heroine also regularly organizes charitable programs with her colleagues, bringing warm clothes to poor children and essential supplies to remote, underprivileged villages. Each trip is a return to her restless youth and an opportunity to sow love again on the land that once sheltered her life.

Not stopping there, she and the association also maintain a program of regularly donating meals to cancer patients at Da Nang Oncology Hospital - a place where many lives are struggling with the disease. These hot meals are not only nutritious, but also a source of comfort during days of despair, a whispered "you are not alone" from someone who deeply understands the value of life.
In addition, she also acts as a monthly godmother to an orphan, helping the child to confidently pursue their education and grow into adulthood. She doesn't do this as a philanthropist, but as a quiet mother, nurturing the future of these underprivileged children.
But that's not all; the heroine also carried out many charitable activities such as sponsoring the lighting of rural roads with solar-powered lamps, and community care activities like installing convex mirrors on traffic routes. Each journey, each activity demonstrates her wholehearted dedication to the community.

Live to give, to be grateful for life.
For heroine Nguyen Vu Minh Nguyet, volunteering is not about repaying anyone, but about giving back to the land that sheltered her during the most brutal years of her life. It was her homeland that nurtured her with love, tears, and faith during wartime. And today, she returns with everything she has – with a heart, actions, and gratitude woven from memories.
She once simply said, "My homeland has given me life. Now, I only hope I can live a life worthy of it . " That statement has been the guiding principle for every action, every trip, and every gift she has given over the years.
At an age when many choose to retire, heroine Nguyen Vu Minh Nguyet continues her tireless journey of sharing and contributing. Without seeking praise, she chooses to quietly do good deeds, thereby spreading humanitarian values within the community.
In an era where kindness is sometimes questioned, the quiet yet enduring presence of Ms. Nguyen Vu Minh Nguyet is a warm flame – illuminating, inspiring, and reminding each person of their responsibility, morality, and gratitude. This heroine – after fierce battles – continues to silently dedicate herself to showing love and sharing with the less fortunate and to acting for the community.
