The 23-year-old man from the Xơ Đăng ethnic group, who grew up in the fields and is now a fourth-year university student, is inspiring many with his determination and willpower.

A Chan was born and raised in Dak To District ( Kon Tum Province ) in a large farming family. To raise nine children, A Chan's parents worked hard growing coffee, cassava, and raising cattle. His eldest brother is 44 years old, and his youngest is 16. As a child, A Chan loved playing football, often wandering through the fields with a ball, despite being punished by his mother many times. After breaking his leg playing football in the 5th grade, A Chan was forbidden from playing football by his mother. However, he eventually excelled in his studies, becoming the first in his family to pass the entrance exam for the Nursing program specializing in Anesthesia and Resuscitation at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City, with the dream that "when I work in the medical field, I can help many people."

From his first year, the young man from the Xơ Đăng ethnic group has always participated in the university's football tournaments. For three consecutive years, A Chan's team won the championship. Besides being a skilled footballer, A Chan's academic performance has also been consistently good. He has been doing internships regularly at hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City. Despite losing 0-2 to the very strong team from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports on January 8th, the coaching staff of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy team praised the team spirit and enthusiastic play of the players, who are future doctors and nurses. Commenting specifically on A Chan, pharmacist Huỳnh Châu, a member of the coaching staff, said: "Despite his small stature, he possesses speed and skill. Against a very strong opponent with extensive experience, our team's formation faltered a bit in the second half, and A Chan didn't have many opportunities to fully showcase his strengths."

A Chan shared with Thanh Nien newspaper: "When performing anesthesia in the operating room, I am very focused to do my job well. When I'm on the football field, I'm just as focused. I felt incredibly happy and nervous when the head coach allowed me to come onto the field in the second half, in my first ever match in an 11-a-side tournament, a big one like the TNSV THACO Cup 2024."
