According to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Binh Duong province, the running race with the theme "Run for health - Run for the environment" is one of the meaningful activities in the joyful and exciting atmosphere of Youth month, welcoming celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 3 - March 1931, 26) and promote the campaign "All people exercise their bodies following the example of great Uncle Ho" to create an exercise movement physical training and sports, improving health, building office culture among civil servants, public employees and workers.
Along with that, the "Run for Health - Run for the Environment" tournament also aims to encourage everyone to participate in the "Earth Hour 2024" Campaign, actively contributing to raising people's awareness and society on economical and efficient use of energy, environmental protection, and response to climate change.
The organizing committee said that the running tournament attracted hundreds of athletes from units under the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, units, running clubs, and people to participate.
Earth Hour is a global campaign initiated by the International Union for Conservation of Nature to raise public awareness about climate change and energy saving around the world.
The Earth Hour event was first held in Sydney in 2007 with the participation of 2,2 million people. To date, Earth Hour has become one of the largest environmental campaigns in the world, responded to in more than 180 countries and territories. In 2024, the event of turning off the lights for one hour to respond to Earth Hour will take place from 20:30 p.m. to 21:30 p.m. on March 23 (tonight).
