MediaTek is expected to be the first to use TSMC's 3nm M3E node with the Dimensity 9400, delivering 30% better energy efficiency than the previous generation. Therefore, phones using this SoC will have better battery life.

The Dimensity 9400 chip will feature an octa-core CPU setup, including one high-performance Cortex-X5 core clocked at 3.63 GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores at 2.80 GHz for added power, and four Cortex-A725 cores running at 2.10 GHz for everyday tasks.

Compared to its predecessor, the Dimensity 9400 chip boasts a significant increase in clock speed (the main core clock speed has increased from 3.25 GHz to 3.63 GHz).

Regarding the GPU, the Dimensity 9400 chip will belong to the Immortalis G9xx series and is expected to deliver speeds of 110fps—an 11.1% improvement over the 99fps of the previous generation.

Currently, the Dimensity 9400 chip has several direct competitors such as Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 (maximum clock speed of 4.32 GHz) and Apple's A18 chip (expected clock speed of 4.40 GHz).
