Currently, markets in rural and border areas have stocked and displayed goods to meet the shopping needs for Tet (Lunar New Year).

Hoa Binh Market (Ninh Dien commune) is one of the border markets, located about 7km from Phuoc Tan National Border Gate, along Provincial Road 781, making it convenient for travel and trade. Hoa Binh Market is not only a place for buying and selling but also a cultural exchange point between Vietnamese and Cambodian people. The vendors in the market are fluent in both Vietnamese and Cambodian for communication.
These days, the market stalls are stocked with many more Tet (Lunar New Year) items such as cakes, jams, candies, various drinks, and offerings for worship. Notably, this market also features many specialty products from Cambodia, such as dried palm sugar, liquid palm sugar, and black bantam chickens.

Ms. Tran Thi Hien, who has been selling groceries at Hoa Binh market for many years, shared: "In previous years at this time, there were quite a lot of customers coming to the market to buy Tet goods. This year, purchasing power has decreased. Hopefully, in the days leading up to Tet, the number of customers coming to the market will increase."
Mr. Truong Van Cong, in charge of managing Hoa Binh Market, said: "This Tet holiday, traders have prepared a diverse and relatively complete range of goods, meeting the needs of the people."
The Tet (Lunar New Year) atmosphere is also very evident at the Border Market in Hoa Hoi commune. In recent years, this border market has been upgraded and renovated, becoming quite spacious and beautiful. Currently, inside the market hall, Tet goods are displayed attractively to serve the shopping needs of the people.
Mr. and Mrs. Nguyen Van Suon have been involved with the Border Market for over 20 years. They recall that a few years ago, many people from Cambodia came to shop there. Normally, the market didn't sell many traditional New Year's sweets and snacks. During the Lunar New Year, Cambodians often came here to visit and buy some cakes, jams, and other treats to enjoy.
However, since the Covid-19 pandemic, few people from neighboring countries have come here to shop. Currently, traders mainly sell to local people. According to Mr. Suon, the reason this border market is gradually losing customers from neighboring countries is that in Cambodia, Tet (Lunar New Year) goods are now sold more widely and in a wider variety than before.

The Border Market currently offers a wide variety of fresh produce such as vegetables, tubers, meat, and fish, as well as specialties from Tay Ninh province like sun-dried rice paper, chili shrimp salt, and handicrafts and specialties from Cambodia such as wigs, nail polish, and various types of palm sugar. The goods here are reasonably priced, and it is hoped that in the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), this border market will attract a significant number of customers, both locals and those from Cambodia, to shop here.
