For nearly 10 years since her appointment as a judge, Lieutenant Colonel Tiet Minh Nguyet, Judge of the Military Court of Military Region 9, has always prioritized impartiality and meticulous review, comparison, and interpretation of key details whenever she is assigned a case. She also clarifies the nature of the case based on the elements constituting the crime before bringing it to trial. Judge Tiet Minh Nguyet shared: “When receiving a case file, we don't follow the direction of the prosecution and investigation, but rather look at the issue from the opposite perspective; we must consider the nature and criminal acts in the case to ensure objectivity. Furthermore, a judge must always maintain a clear mind, a passionate heart, and a cool head, placing themselves in the position of an arbiter to study and handle cases effectively.”

Thanks to careful and objective review of case files, the judicial team gains more confidence, clearly demonstrating the strictness of the law in the practical conduct of trials, especially in complex criminal cases with many defendants. In addition, regularly coordinating with the procuracy at the same level to organize trial review sessions, as guided by the Supreme People's Court , is one of the key measures that helps judges and clerks not only hone their skills but also improve their professional competence. Sharing his experience in trials, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Quoc Tai, Judge of the Military Court of Military Region 9, said: “The presiding judge must oversee the trial, conduct it according to procedural principles, and anticipate potential legal situations to take appropriate action. According to the current direction of judicial reform, the trial panel does not ask as many questions as before, but focuses on clarifying key issues, while providing comments and assessments based on the evidence that has been examined.”
Besides conducting trial review sessions, the organization and implementation of mobile court sessions to try criminal cases within the Military Region is also a priority for the judicial sector. Most recently, this includes the trial of defendants who violated traffic laws resulting in fatalities in Vinh Long province in May 2025. Based on a typical case and a specific violation, the trial panel incorporated and concretized the content into a public awareness campaign during the trial, making it easier for officers, soldiers, and the public to understand and remember, thereby ensuring compliance with traffic regulations.
To enhance the effectiveness of legal awareness and dissemination, in the last six months of 2025 alone, the Military Court of the Military Region coordinated with functional forces and localities to organize five mock trials against illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing. Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tam, a fishing boat owner residing in Tran De commune, Can Tho city, shared: “Common mistakes made while fishing at sea were clarified by the court through the mock trials. This is a very meaningful activity, helping fishermen gain more legal knowledge; use vessel tracking devices correctly and absolutely not fish in foreign waters.”
