| Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting of the Government Standing Committee on preparations for organizing the groundbreaking, inauguration, and technical opening ceremonies of key projects. |
Attending the meeting were Deputy Prime Ministers Tran Hong Ha, Bui Thanh Son, Le Thanh Long, and Ho Quoc Dung; Ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies and government agencies; and leaders of ministries, sectors, and localities.
Following the direction of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Construction requests ministries, sectors, People's Committees of provinces and cities, and corporations to register and prepare for the inauguration and commencement of a series of large-scale and significant projects and works to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
As of December 14th, the Ministry of Construction had compiled a list of 234 construction projects in 34 provinces/cities that met the conditions for commencement, inauguration, and technical opening to traffic; of which, 148 projects were commenced; 86 projects were inaugurated or technically opened to traffic; 38 projects belonged to ministries and agencies; 39 projects belonged to corporations and general companies; and 157 projects belonged to localities.
The total investment for the projects and works is over 3.4 million billion VND, of which 96 projects are funded by the State with more than 627 trillion VND; and 138 projects are funded by other sources, with more than 2.79 million billion VND.
According to the plan, the groundbreaking and inauguration ceremony will take place on the morning of December 19th, coinciding with the 79th anniversary of the National Resistance Day (December 19, 1946 - December 19, 2025), in a hybrid format combining in-person and online participation at 79 locations. The main location will be in Hanoi, with 11 live locations in various provinces and cities, and 67 online locations at construction sites and projects, connecting with other projects of ministries, sectors, and localities that have registered.
After the delegates discussed the relevant issues and concluded the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh assigned the Deputy Prime Ministers to direct the process; he requested the Ministry of Construction - the permanent agency of the event - to preside over and coordinate with the Government Office, Vietnam Television , relevant ministries, sectors, and localities to continue reviewing the list of projects and works that meet the conditions for commencement, inauguration, and technical opening; to review the time, location, and form of organization; and to prepare for the commencement and inauguration ceremonies of the projects and works.
In particular, the relevant parties carefully reviewed the procedures for inauguration and groundbreaking ceremonies according to regulations; prepared the site, logistical and technical means, infrastructure conditions, security and safety measures; developed a detailed script, ceremonial arrangements, and organized the awards and commendations meticulously, especially at the main venue in Hanoi, following the "six clear" principle (clear person, clear task, clear time, clear result, clear authority, clear responsibility).
The Prime Minister noted that, along with the commencement and inauguration of large-scale projects, equal attention must be paid to the commencement, inauguration, and implementation of social welfare projects, such as building and repairing houses for people affected by recent natural disasters.
This further affirms the significance and humanity of the event, demonstrating that alongside promoting development, the Party and State always prioritize social welfare, ensuring that no one is left behind; all for the rapid and sustainable development of the country, and for the prosperous and happy lives of the people.
