On July 31st, the Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, Nguyen Van Hieu, along with local leaders, surveyed and inspected the progress of the Vinh Thanh Industrial Park (VSIP) Can Tho project and the operational situation at Tan Cang Thot Not Port, in preparation for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Vinh Thanh Industrial Park (VSIP) project.

The VSIP Can Tho project has a total land area of nearly 300 hectares to be acquired, affecting approximately 550 households and organizations. To date, authorities have announced land acquisition for 541 cases to serve the project, with a total area of over 293 hectares. 60 cases have already handed over their land, equivalent to 30.87 hectares…
During the inspection, the Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, Nguyen Van Hieu, requested relevant agencies to accurately review the area of land to be reclaimed, the number of affected households, and the compensation to be provided, in order to avoid potential disputes. The specialized units and Vinh Thanh district need to ensure the interests of the people are protected and be flexible in the process of considering and handling compensation, land clearance, and resettlement land allocation.
During a survey of operations at Tan Cang Thot Not Port, Comrade Nguyen Van Hieu noted that the investing unit needs to further develop infrastructure, wharves, and cargo handling and transshipment facilities to meet the needs of customs clearance in Can Tho City and the Mekong Delta region, especially to serve the upcoming construction of the VSIP Can Tho Industrial Park…
Tan Cang Thot Not Port has a total area of 1.1 hectares, including a 75-meter-long wharf capable of receiving ships and barges of 2000 DWT. Tan Cang Thot Not Port serves as a transshipment hub for goods, providing logistics services and connecting goods between the Mekong Delta region and Ho Chi Minh City.
