Can Tho submits for approval the 1/2000 scale construction zoning plan for Vinh Thanh Industrial Park (Phase 2)
The planned area of Vinh Thanh Industrial Park (Phase 2), Can Tho City is about 559.86 hectares, with an expected workforce of about 25,000 - 32,000 people.
On June 10, Can Tho City People's Committee issued Document No. 114/TTr-UBND to the City People's Council to approve the 1/2000 scale construction zoning plan for Vinh Thanh Industrial Park (Phase 2), Can Tho City.
The planning scope is in Vinh Trinh commune and Vinh Binh commune, Vinh Thanh district, Can Tho city. The Northwest borders the safety corridor of Lo Te - Rach Soi highway, Vinh Thanh Industrial Park (Phase 1), Vinh Trinh commune; the Southeast borders the existing residential area and agricultural cultivation area of Vinh Binh commune; the Southwest borders the agricultural cultivation area of Vinh Trinh commune and Vinh Binh commune; the Northeast borders the agricultural cultivation area, residential area of Vinh Trinh commune and Vinh Binh commune.

In nature, this is an industrial park that develops intensively based on the potential and advantages of the area, forming an industrial park with a synchronous, modern, sustainable and environmentally friendly technical infrastructure system. Flexibly meeting diverse needs in terms of land use scale to attract investment in diverse sectors (heavy industry, high value-added industry, supporting industry, construction investment, port exploitation, logistics services, etc.) to form an industry cluster in the industrial park. At the same time, combining with other industrial parks (existing and planned) to form an industrial cluster in Can Tho City and the Mekong Delta region.
Regarding production types, Vinh Thanh Industrial Park (Phase 2) is expected to accommodate a variety of industries with types of seaport logistics, dry ports, warehouses and yards.
The planned area of the industrial park is about 559.86 hectares, with an expected workforce of about 25,000 - 32,000 people.
Functional zones include: Industrial production and warehouse area; industrial and logistics area; administrative - commercial - service area; utility service area - accommodation; infrastructure - technical works; green area, water surface.
Regarding the orientation of space development and landscape architecture, forming a modern industrial space and landscape worthy of the role and position as one of the important industrial parks of Can Tho city, the industrial park space has many trees and water surfaces, creating a cool landscape, creating a good working and resting environment for workers...
The approved 1/2,000 scale construction zoning plan of Vinh Thanh Industrial Park (Phase 2) Can Tho City will be the basis for determining construction investment projects, establishing detailed construction plans (if any), implementing construction investment projects and managing construction according to the approved plan.
Previously, in September 2023, the Management Board of Can Tho Export Processing and Industrial Zones coordinated with Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park Joint Venture Company Limited and related units to organize the Kick-off Ceremony of the Vinh Thanh Industrial Park Infrastructure Investment and Construction Project (Phase 1 - also known as VSIP Can Tho Industrial Park). The project has a total investment of about VND 3,700 billion in phase 1, with an area of 293.7 hectares. This is the 13th Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) in the country, and the first project in the Mekong Delta.
According to the Can Tho City Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister , by 2030, the city will establish 7 new industrial parks when fully meeting the conditions prescribed by law on industrial parks, including: Vinh Thanh Industrial Park (phase 2), Vinh Thanh Industrial Park 2, Vinh Thanh Industrial Park 3, Vinh Thanh Industrial Park 4, Vinh Thanh Industrial Park 5, Co Do - Thoi Lai Industrial Park and O Mon District High-Tech Industrial Park, with a total area of 6,485.75 hectares.
