Every Thursday evening, 50 Vietnamese and Lao students from Ha Tinh University "light up" with the Vietnamese Language Club. This is not only a regular language class, but also a "lecture hall" for Vietnamese students to guide Lao students to "enrich" their vocabulary, improve their communication skills, access professional knowledge and build effective self-study methods.

Through the lectures delivered, Lao students progressed rapidly. “When I first joined, I mispronounced a lot, couldn’t understand what I heard, and had difficulty absorbing new knowledge. But after being enthusiastically guided by my friends, I now have a rich vocabulary, and can even understand the local language and Vietnamese idioms and proverbs. Thanks to that, I am confident in being a class interpreter to help my fellow countrymen who are new to the school,” said KhamthavyXaiyhasan (Information Technology student, Ha Tinh University).
To support Lao students studying abroad in exploring knowledge, the club's management board and Vietnamese students at Ha Tinh University have constantly promoted their roles and responsibilities and have been innovative and creative in implementation.

Student Truong Thi Lan Anh (head of the Vietnamese Club, Ha Tinh University) expressed: "In each class, we have to prepare the lesson like a real teacher: from content, making presentation slides to communication methods... To bring about good learning results, I often divide into small groups, 4-5 Lao students will have 1 Vietnamese student to follow and support."
At Ha Tinh Medical College, 156 members of the Y - Ket Noi Club are also active. “Due to the large number of students participating, we have to divide the class into 3 fixed study groups every week. Along with learning Vietnamese, we also combine organizing exchange activities such as playing games, singing... to create a friendly learning environment, facilitating cultural exchange,” said Nguyen Nhat Tra My (club leader).
Currently, in Ha Tinh, there are about 700 students from the "Land of a Million Elephants" studying at universities and colleges to prepare for the future and join hands to strengthen the solidarity between Vietnam and Laos. To help and create a healthy playground for international students, training institutions, youth unions and student associations have established many effective clubs such as: arts, physical education - sports, alumni... Besides, Lao students also have the opportunity to experience meaningful extracurricular programs: Green Summer, pilgrimage to red addresses, Tet...
The good traditional relationship, the loyal and steadfast attachment between the people of Vietnam and Laos has become an invaluable asset of the two nations. In the past and present, the two countries have always stood side by side, helping each other to develop together. Inheriting that good tradition, when participating in clubs, students of the two countries, in addition to accumulating professional knowledge, also proactively learn about each other's culture and customs to build a cultural exchange, where good values are always learned and passed on.
Graduated with honors in Political Education from Ha Tinh University, Lieutenant Sonemanyla Vilaiphone returned to work at the Lao People's Army Newspaper. For her, the years of studying in Vietnam helped her mature and open up many opportunities in her work: MC of many programs; events, interpreter for the Presidium of the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province when visiting Laos...

Knowing the thoughts and aspirations of many young people in Laos who also want to learn about Vietnamese language and culture, she has connected young people and organized free teaching sessions when she has time. “I always hope that my experiences will become a source of inspiration for young Lao people to be more confident in themselves and boldly come to Vietnam to study. From there, contributing to deepening the Vietnam - Laos relationship,” Ms. Vilaiphone emphasized.
Choosing Ha Tinh Medical College as the place to entrust his dream, Athsomphanh Khamla (a student of the College of Pharmacy) said that his parents' teachings about a united and humane Vietnam urged him to set foot on this land.
Ms. Nilavong Bounyoung (mother of Athsomphanh Khamla, living in Hinboun district, Khammouane province) proudly said: “Every time I hear my son talk about his wonderful experiences in Vietnam, I feel the hospitality that the Vietnamese people bring. Seeing him grow up day by day, we are more and more grateful and cherish the culture and people of Vietnam."

Despite the initial difficulties with language differences, living habits, etc., Vietnamese students still diligently accompany, bring knowledge and hospitality to support Lao students in every class and every activity. These simple stories are contributing to building the image of a friendly, benevolent and civilized Vietnam in the eyes of international friends.
Lecturer Ba Chi Thanh (Secretary of the Youth Union of Ha Tinh Medical College) assessed that the Vietnamese - Lao student clubs operate effectively, promoting the spirit of the young generation. “Vietnamese - Lao students always have the awareness to learn and exchange culture to strengthen the close relationship between the two countries. You are young representatives of the country, always carrying enthusiasm and knowledge to spread the good values of your homeland to international friends.
In the coming time, the School Youth Union will continue to accompany students, creating the best conditions for them to have an effective and healthy living and learning environment. In addition to maintaining the activities of the school clubs, we will soon plan entertainment programs for Christmas and traditional New Year... to help Vietnamese and Lao students bond more closely," Mr. Thanh shared.
