Clean agricultural products for the market.

Originating from a vegetable production cooperative with over 15 years of experience, the Muoi Hai Safe Vegetable Cooperative (Rach Kien commune) continuously innovates its thinking and applies scientific and technological advancements to production. From greenhouse models to automated irrigation systems at reasonable costs (approximately 35 million VND/1,000m²), the cooperative is gradually perfecting its safe vegetable production chain, optimizing cultivation processes while improving productivity and product quality to meet modern consumer trends.

According to Le Van Giay, Chairman of the Board and General Director of the Muoi Hai Safe Vegetable Cooperative, the cooperative currently manages over 30 hectares of production land, of which more than 3 hectares are cultivated organically, and the remaining area is VietGAP certified. Thanks to systematic farming practices, the cooperative supplies several tons of clean agricultural products to the market every day, contributing to meeting the ever-increasing demand of people for safe food.

The Muoi Hai Safe Vegetable Cooperative always prioritizes quality in every vegetable product it supplies to the market.

Emphasizing market trends, Mr. Le Van Giay stated that before, during, and after the Lunar New Year, especially around the full moon of the first lunar month, is always a peak period for agricultural product consumption, particularly vegetables. Purchasing power increases rapidly, with people prioritizing clean products with clear origins, forcing producers to prepare more thoroughly in terms of both quality and quantity. Therefore, the cooperative develops its production plan very early, arranging the planting season appropriately to ensure uninterrupted supply during this period of high market activity.

“The cooperative is tightening control over the entire process of cultivation, harvesting, and preliminary processing; vegetables must meet the highest quality standards when they reach consumers. This is a crucial time, so we are determined to prevent shortages or disruptions in the supply chain,” Mr. Giay said.

According to him, maintaining credibility during periods of market activity is key to the cooperative's brand building and long-term partnership with consumers. "To build our own brand, we have continuously undergone digital transformation. Thanks to the application of digital signatures and website development, the cooperative has increased brand recognition and expanded its market, making it easier for consumers to access safe vegetables. These applications not only help the cooperative reach customers more quickly but also enhance its reputation and consumer trust," Mr. Giấy added.

Expectations for a vibrant market.

Through continuous efforts in production, Mr. Tran Minh Chien (residing in Khanh Hau ward) said that the period from after Tet (Lunar New Year) to the 15th day of the first lunar month is always a crucial "business season" for vegetable farmers. This is the period when demand increases rapidly, especially for fresh vegetables and root crops used for offerings during the full moon festival and in traditional dishes. To meet market demand, he proactively monitors the quality of each vegetable plot, adjusting the harvesting schedule accordingly to ensure that the products brought to market are always fresh, safe, and uniform in appearance.

Currently, Mr. Chien cultivates 2.7 hectares of vegetables. He applies an intercropping model with familiar vegetables such as lettuce, cucumber, gourd, pumpkin, tomato, bitter melon, etc., which helps to circulate nutrients in the soil, reduce pests and diseases, and ensure stable yields throughout the year.

However, according to Mr. Chien, the biggest concern remains pests and diseases such as thrips, caterpillars, and whiteflies – which can significantly reduce yields if not treated promptly. “Detecting and controlling pests and diseases as early as possible is crucial. I prioritize using biological pesticides that are on the approved list to ensure consumer safety,” Mr. Chien shared.

Mr. Tran Minh Chien is tending to his vegetable beds to ensure they are ready for the market during the Lantern Festival (15th day of the first lunar month).

After the Lunar New Year, when the market enters its peak season around the 15th day of the first lunar month, the demand for vegetables usually increases sharply. "The 15th day of the first lunar month is a time when people pay close attention to clean agricultural products. Therefore, I prioritize products of the highest quality, while also trying to keep prices stable so that people can shop with peace of mind," said Mr. Chien.

Besides focusing on proper care and harvesting at the right time, Mr. Chien also strengthens the inspection process before selling, discarding substandard vegetables and tubers to maintain his reputation with partners. He hopes that prices will continue to remain good, farmers will profit, and consumers will have access to clean and safe agricultural products. This is also the motivation for him to continue expanding his model, investing more deeply in technology, and contributing to improving the quality of local vegetables in the future.

Amidst this bustling production atmosphere, the proactive spirit, responsibility, and progressive attitude of local farmers in meeting consumer demand during the Lantern Festival (the 15th day of the first lunar month) – one of the most important festivals in Vietnam – is clearly evident. Farmers in this modern era understand that maintaining credibility is key to long-term success; therefore, each product brought to market is meticulously crafted with dedication and responsibility.
