This is a program to provide Tet (Lunar New Year) support for disadvantaged families, poor households, near-poor households, households in difficult circumstances, orphaned children, workers, laborers, and families facing hardship due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in Ho Chi Minh City.

The program takes place in 6 areas, with particular attention and implementation in areas with a large number of workers and disadvantaged laborers; areas with many industrial parks and export processing zones; areas with a large number of migrant workers, poor households, near-poor households, disadvantaged women, etc. Each case will be able to purchase essential goods, food, and Tet holiday supplies at the "Zero-Cost Tet Mini Supermarket" with a value equivalent to 400,000 VND.

The program took place from January 24th to 27th, 2024, and served and supported over 15,300 cases during the Tet holiday with a total estimated budget of over 8.5 billion VND.

Beyond the humanitarian value of the program in caring for the poor and disadvantaged families during Tet (Lunar New Year), the program also aims for other values ​​such as: creating opportunities for disadvantaged households to participate in the "Zero-Cost Mini Supermarket" activities, experience the Tet atmosphere, and allowing participants to choose practical products that their families truly need during Tet.

The program was held in 6 areas including Binh Thanh District, District 7, District 10, Binh Tan District, Hoc Mon District and Thu Duc City:

Area 1: Binh Thanh District Sports Center, 8 Phan Dang Luu Street, Ward 14, Binh Thanh District, will be providing support to residents of Phu Nhuan, Binh Thanh, Go Vap, Tan Binh, and District 1 from January 24th to 27th, 2024.

Area 2: District 7 Children's House, No. 193, Street 30, Tan Quy Dong Ward, District 7, will take care of residents from District 4, District 7, and Nha Be District from January 24th to 12 noon on January 26th, 2024.

Area 3: The Binh Tan District Cultural and Sports Center, located at 565 Kinh Duong Vuong Street, An Lac Ward, Binh Tan District, will be providing support to residents of District 6, Binh Tan District, Tan Phu District, and Binh Chanh District from January 24th to 26th, 2024.

Area 4: Thu Duc City Cultural Center, 119 Vo Van Ngan Street, Linh Chieu Ward, Thu Duc District, is taking care of residents of Thu Duc City on January 24, 2024.

Area 5: The Hoc Mon District Fatherland Front Committee building, No. 1 Ly Nam De Street, Hoc Mon town, will provide assistance to residents of District 12 and Hoc Mon District from January 24th to 12:00 PM on January 25th, 2024.

Area 6: The People's Mobilization and Club Building, No. 20 Tam Dao Street, Ward 15, District 10, will be providing support to residents of Districts 3, 5, 8, 10, and 11 from January 24th to 25th, 2023.

The "2024 Tet Mini Supermarket with 0 VND" has prepared over 50 items, totaling more than 150,000 essential products including rice, milk, sugar, cakes, spices, etc., to meet the needs of the people. This is a program with profound community significance, especially as the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Dragon is approaching.

The spirit of "mutual support and compassion" among the organizers was clearly demonstrated through their actions, such as assisting people in choosing and packaging goods.

The positive message and meaning of the "Zero-Cost Mini Supermarket for Tet" in 2024 will contribute to spreading humanitarian values ​​everywhere. With the wish that all Vietnamese people will have a warm and happy Lunar New Year in 2024.
