The art program "Heartfelt Stories from the Homeland" will take place on the evening of September 18th.

The Acting Director of the Vietnam Cheo Theatre, People's Artist Tuan Cuong, said: "The recent storm and floods have severely affected many provinces in the North, including Hanoi. The damage from Typhoon No. 3 and the subsequent floods has not yet been fully assessed, but we have witnessed much loss and heartbreaking suffering. Therefore, as artists, it is essential to contribute our songs and performances to sharing the losses with the community. Immediately after receiving instructions from the leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism regarding the implementation of charitable art programs to support those affected by the storm and floods, I and the artists in the Theatre wholeheartedly supported it. We have planned and decided to organize the art program "Homeland Confessions" on the evening of September 18th, and all proceeds from the program will be donated to the people affected by the storm and floods."

"Through the art program 'Homeland Confessions,' the theater hopes to share the pain and losses of the people severely affected by Typhoon No. 3 (Typhoon Yagi ). At the same time, it aims to inspire compassion and noble deeds from partners, benefactors, artists, and especially the generous hearts of the audience, thereby contributing to the Party and State's efforts to quickly overcome the consequences of the storm and floods and restore the lives of the people," – People's Artist Tuan Cuong expressed.

The program will donate all proceeds to people affected by floods and storms.

The art program "Homeland Confessions" was written and rearranged by People's Artist Tuan Cuong from award-winning performances at various festivals and competitions, such as: Solo performance on the zither (Suy Van); Cheo singing (Motherland); Lullaby; Orchestral performance (Homeland Charm);…

People's Artist Tuan Cuong said: "In the program, the finest and most distinctive features of Cheo theater will be showcased to the audience. Besides that, the highlight of the program, which I want to convey to the audience, is the optimistic, resilient, and indomitable spirit of the Vietnamese people in the face of adversity and natural disasters. Because our country has gone through periods of ups and downs, hardships, from war to natural disasters and epidemics… yet the Vietnamese people have always been strong and united in overcoming everything. Along with that, the spirit of solidarity, sharing, and mutual support will also be clearly demonstrated in the program."

The program also aims to encourage people to overcome difficulties and look towards the future.

As an artist participating in the program, Meritorious Artist Thuy Dung expressed: "In the past few days, what touched me most was witnessing the patriotic spirit, solidarity, and resilience of the Vietnamese people. After the floods, many acts of mutual support and sharing have multiplied through charitable activities, donations, and fundraising. The art program "Heartfelt Stories from the Homeland" organized at this time is very meaningful, aiming to encourage people to overcome difficulties and look towards the future, while also raising funds to support localities affected by the floods. Therefore, as an artist, I am ready to contribute my small efforts, using my songs and music to spread these positive messages and call for community and social support to help our compatriots in need."

Currently, the artists are working hard to create a complete program that combines artistic merit with charitable activities. The program will feature performances by artists from two Vietnamese Cheo Theatre troupes, including Meritorious Artists Thuy Dung, Kim Lien, Tuan Tai, Thanh Mai, Thu Thuy, and Phu Kien...

This program is part of the Art Performance Plan directed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, implemented by 12 theaters under the Ministry, aiming to raise funds and support people in the northern provinces and cities severely affected by storms and floods.
