Transferring investors of 8 billion-dollar projects in Dung Quat

A series of trillion-dollar projects invested by the Dung Quat Economic Zone Management Board and Quang Ngai industrial parks were transferred to the Quang Ngai Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board.

On May 10, Mr. Tran Phuoc Hien - Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee - signed a decision to transfer 8 projects invested by Dung Quat Economic Zone Management Board and Quang Ngai Industrial Parks to the Quang Ngai Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board for management, implementation and continued investment and completion.

Specifically, 8 projects have transferred investors, including 6 traffic projects including: the project to upgrade and expand the traffic infrastructure system in Dung Quat Economic Zone; the main inter-port road Dung Quat 1; Tri Binh - Dung Quat port road; roads to the axis and the heavy industrial park Dung Quat east; the main traffic route connecting the northern and southern centers of Van Tuong urban area; two national highway 1 collector roads.

Traffic projects in Dung Quat Economic Zone have a large total investment capital, up to thousands of billions of VND, such as: the main north-south road project of Van Tuong urban area with an investment capital of nearly 398 billion VND; Tri Binh - Dung Quat road with nearly 1,500 billion VND...

These projects were implemented many years ago and are still being implemented. The main reason for the "unfinished work" is due to the poor compensation and site clearance work.

There are even projects that have been implemented for 10 years and are still not completed. The new investor will continue to handle and complete the projects.

In addition to the 6 traffic projects, Quang Ngai province also transferred the project of rainwater drainage system, wastewater collection and treatment in the industrial park east of Dung Quat; the project of embankment against landslides combined with rescue, resettlement, boat mooring at Ca Ninh dam downstream of Tra Bong river serving Dung Quat Economic Zone, Binh Son district, phase 1 from Dung Quat Committee to the Provincial Traffic Committee for continued implementation.

Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee requested the new investor to coordinate with the old investor to hand over the documents of the above projects and implement the next steps; strictly manage the project's budget within the approved total investment of the project...
