On May 10th, Mr. Tran Phuoc Hien, Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, signed a decision transferring 8 projects, previously managed by the Dung Quat Economic Zone and Quang Ngai Industrial Parks Management Board, to the Quang Ngai Provincial Management Board for Investment and Construction of Transportation Projects for management, implementation, and further investment to complete them.
Specifically, 8 projects have had their investors transferred, including 6 transportation projects: the project to upgrade and expand the transportation infrastructure system in the Dung Quat Economic Zone; the main inter-port road connecting Dung Quat 1; the Tri Binh - Dung Quat port road; access roads to the main axis and heavy industrial zone in the east of Dung Quat; the main road connecting the northern and southern centers of Van Tuong urban area; and two access roads to National Highway 1.
Transportation projects in the Dung Quat Economic Zone have large total investment capital, reaching thousands of billions of VND, such as: the main north-south road project in Van Tuong urban area with an investment of nearly 398 billion VND; the Tri Binh - Dung Quat road with nearly 1,500 billion VND...
These projects were launched many years ago and are still ongoing. The main reason for their prolonged delay is the extremely poor compensation and land clearance process.
Some projects, even those started 10 years ago, remain unfinished, and the new investor will continue to handle and complete them.
In addition to the six transportation projects, Quang Ngai province also transferred the rainwater drainage system, wastewater collection and treatment project for the eastern Dung Quat industrial zone; and the project for embankment construction to prevent landslides combined with rescue and relief, resettlement, and boat mooring at the Ca Ninh dam downstream of the Tra Bong River, serving the Dung Quat Economic Zone, Binh Son district, phase 1, from the Dung Quat Management Board to the Provincial Transportation Board for continued implementation.
The People's Committee of Quang Ngai province requested the new investor to coordinate with the old investor to hand over the project documents and implement the next steps; and to strictly manage the project's budget within the approved total investment amount...
