According to statistics from the Department of Agriculture and Environment, from 2015 to 2025, many rice-growing areas have been converted to other crops, creating thousands of jobs and increasing the average value by 2-3 times compared to rice cultivation. Specifically, in the period 2021-2025, the entire province converted nearly 3,340 hectares of low-yield rice land to annual crops or rice cultivation combined with aquaculture.
The restructuring of crop patterns has yielded significant results, with the average production value per hectare of cultivated land estimated at approximately 146 million VND, exceeding 46 million VND/ha compared to 2020 and tripling compared to 2015. This has contributed to increasing farmers' income and creating a sustainable direction for the development of commercial agricultural production.
