Efforts to save oneself
As the first team to play in round 22, Da Nang FC delivered an outstanding performance to secure a 2-0 victory against Becamex Ho Chi Minh City FC.
In this match, Coach Le Duc Tuan's players played with great intensity to save themselves. Facing a "waterlogged" situation, despite not having a strong squad, Da Nang FC played tenaciously, seizing every opportunity to secure the victory. The credit goes not only to the two goalscorers, Vo Nguyen Hoang and Milan Makaric, but also to other players such as goalkeeper Nguyen Van Toan, Hong Phuc, Que Ngoc Hai, Dinh Duy, Minh Quang, Anh Tuan, Van Son, Phi Hoang… all of whom played quite well. Watching their team play against Becamex Ho Chi Minh City FC, Da Nang fans believe that if their players had played like this from the beginning of the season, they could have secured a safe position in the standings by now.

Da Nang FC secured a valuable three-point victory at home, but just two days later, this win became meaningless as their relegation rival, PVF-CAND FC, also won 2-1 away against HAGL FC. PVF-CAND's victory pushed Da Nang back to the bottom of the table with 16 points, one point behind PVF-CAND.
Overcoming difficulties
With only 4 matches remaining in the 2025-2026 V-League season, Da Nang FC is in a desperate attempt to avoid relegation. To escape the bottom of the table and climb to 13th place to qualify for the play-off against a First Division team for a V-League spot, Da Nang FC must win at least 2 out of their remaining 4 matches and hope that PVF-CAND doesn't get a good result. Looking back at their 22 previous matches, Da Nang FC has only won 3, highlighting the immense difficulty of this task.
Da Nang FC's next opponent is Ho Chi Minh City Police FC (CA TP.HCM) in Round 23, taking place at 6 PM on May 15th. CA TP.HCM is currently ranked 5th with 32 points and is eager to climb up the standings or maintain a top 5 position at the end of the season, so they are playing with great determination. Since replacing Le Huynh Duc with coach Phung Thanh Phuong, CA TP.HCM has played well, winning 3-1 against SLNA. Meanwhile, Da Nang FC often performs poorly away from home, so in this match, the team from the Han River must strive to secure at least one point. In their remaining three matches, Da Nang FC will face Hai Phong FC (home), Ha Tinh FC (away), and Thanh Hoa FC (home). These are three manageable opponents; therefore, if Da Nang players perform as well as they did against Becamex TP.HCM in Round 22, they have a good chance of winning against Hai Phong and Thanh Hoa at Chi Lang Stadium.
In round 23, PVF-CAND will face a strong opponent, Hanoi FC, making a win very difficult. The painful defeat against Thanh Hoa in round 22 means Do Hoang Hen and his teammates must win this match to compete for a top 3 spot, so PVF-CAND will certainly face many challenges.
In their remaining three matches, PVF-CAND will face The Cong Viettel (away), Hai Phong (home), and SLNA (away), making their situation more difficult than that of Da Nang FC. Therefore, despite being at the bottom of the table in a precarious situation, if they can maintain their form and win, the team from the banks of the Han River could secure a play-off spot and have a chance to avoid relegation.
