On the afternoon of June 2nd, Da Nang FC announced the dismissal of coach Phan Thanh Hung. He will be replaced by coach Pham Minh Duc. The defeat against Ho Chi Minh City FC on May 31st was the final straw leading to Da Nang FC's decision. Since the beginning of the season, the team from the Han River has not tasted victory, losing 5 and drawing 5 matches.
On the league table, Da Nang is currently at the bottom. They are almost certain to have to fight to avoid relegation in the second phase. Da Nang FC hopes that the arrival of coach Pham Minh Duc will inject new energy into the players. Coach Pham Minh Duc will arrive in Da Nang tomorrow, June 3rd.
Mr. Pham Minh Duc previously coached two V-League teams: Hanoi FC and Hong Linh Ha Tinh FC. Afterward, he returned to work with the youth team at Hanoi FC. Coach Pham Minh Duc is considered a charismatic coach who pursues an attacking style of play. However, Coach Pham Minh Duc will need to adapt to Da Nang's current squad before adding new players mid-season.

For his part, coach Phan Thanh Hung will take a break for a while. The coach from Da Nang helped the Han River team establish its own identity and distinctive playing style. However, a series of disappointing results have seriously dampened the team's morale.
Coach Phan Thanh Hung previously managed Da Nang FC from 2007 to 2009. After that, he coached Hanoi T&T, Than Quang Ninh , and Binh Duong. His teams emphasized a style of play characterized by ball control and attractive attacking football. With his success at the club level, in 2012, Coach Phan Thanh Hung was chosen as the head coach of both the Vietnamese national team and the U23 team. However, he resigned following their failure at the 2012 AFF Cup.
In the final three rounds of the first phase, Da Nang FC will face Binh Duong, Hai Phong, and Hanoi Police FC respectively. These are all tough opponents. Coach Pham Minh Duc will face a difficult challenge as he takes over from Coach Phan Thanh Hung.
