Ninh Binh Club borrows coach from Chairman Duc.

Ninh Binh FC has borrowed Vu Tien Thanh, the technical director of Hoang Anh Gia Lai FC, to serve as the team's interim coach until a new head coach is found.

On the afternoon of March 3rd, Ninh Binh Club announced the appointment of Mr. Vu Tien Thanh as interim head coach, leading the team in the 2025-2026 season until a new head coach is found.

Mr. Thanh replaced coach Gerard Albadalejo - the Spanish coach who parted ways with the team on the evening of March 2nd after a series of unsuccessful matches in the V-League 2025-2026.

Mr. Vu Tien Thanh is currently the Technical Director of both the Hoang Anh Gia Lai Academy and the first team of the Ninh Binh football club. Therefore, the Ninh Binh Club leadership has discussed with Mr. Doan Nguyen Duc, the owner of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club, about loaning Mr. Vu Tien Thanh.

The appointment of an experienced coach like Vu Tien Thanh is expected to help Ninh Binh Club stabilize its organization, maintain discipline, and improve professional efficiency during the crucial stage of the season.

Under coach Gerard Albadalejo, newly promoted Ninh Binh FC has had a dream start with an 11-match unbeaten streak (8 wins, 3 draws), leading the league for several consecutive matches.

However, returning after a nearly three-month break for the Vietnam U23 team to focus on competing in the SEA Games 33 and the 2026 AFC U23 Championship, Ninh Binh Club has lost three consecutive matches.

This result caused the team from the ancient capital of Hoa Lu to drop to 3rd place behind Hanoi Police and The Cong - Viettel . With an 8-point gap behind the leading team Hanoi Police but having played one more match, Ninh Binh Club is losing its advantage in the V.League championship race.

Ninh Binh FC is expected to announce coach Vu Tien Thanh tomorrow, March 4th. The new head coach of Ninh Binh FC will only have 4 days to prepare before his debut match against SHB Da Nang at home at 6 PM on March 7th.
