Opportunity to improve teaching skills for teachers and lecturers

DTO - For lecturers and teachers who are teaching in the field of vocationaleducation (VET), the 2023 VET Teachers' Conference in Dong Thap province is an opportunity to improve their skills, exchange and learn from colleagues. Thereby, contributing to improving the quality of teaching for students and confidently participating in the national conference.

Implementing innovation in professional work in the field of vocational education, the team of lecturers and teachers, especially good lecturers and teachers, will actively contribute to training excellent students, trainees and students with skills to meet the recruitment needs of businesses and companies. For that purpose, from 2021 to present, each year, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (LĐ-TB&XH) and specialized departments have included the content of teaching conferences in the work program in the vocational education system. At the same time, there is a document guiding vocational education institutions to proactively select competent teachers, develop lesson plans, and organize school-level model lessons for colleagues to contribute their opinions.

During the organization of the teaching conference, to ensure fairness and authenticity, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs proactively invited members of the Jury, who are Heads of Departments and lecturers of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education (SPKT), Vinh Long University of Technical Education... to be in charge of the Sub-committees to score the contestants. In 2023, the provincial vocational education teachers' teaching conference continued to be held in Thap Muoi district, with 30 contestants who are excellent teachers and lecturers selected from the grassroots teaching conference. Contestants participated in lectures: theory, practice, integration with students and trainees attending directly, so each contestant had to invest time, effort, practice many times and ask for comments from colleagues to improve before taking the exam.

The Dong Thap Provincial Vocational Education Teachers' Conference is considered a good opportunity for managers and teachers in the vocational education system to access good lectures and topics, thereby drawing necessary experiences when teaching students and trainees. Mr. Vo Pham Thien Thao - Lecturer of the Faculty of Electricity - Electronics, Dong Thap Community College, said: "I am honored to participate in the Dong Thap Provincial Vocational Education Conference in 2023. This is a playground for teachers to learn and exchange experiences with each other; young teachers will be able to access and learn teaching methods from experienced people. Especially, practicing good methods and new methods to convey knowledge to students and trainees in the most effective way. Thanks to the support of colleagues and the contributions of the Jury with many very good and sincere opinions, it is very useful luggage for myself and other teachers to participate in the upcoming National Vocational Education Teachers' Conference...".

Evaluating the quality of the teaching conference, the preparation and investment of the schools with candidates participating in the exam as well as the host unit, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Tuyet - Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, said: "The Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs is authorized by the Provincial People's Committee to organize the 2023 Vocational Education Teachers' Teaching Conference in Dong Thap province, with 13/30 lecturers and teachers achieving high results in this teaching conference. Vocational education institutions have carefully prepared from teacher training to logistics. On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the teaching conference, I would like to thank the attention of the provincial leaders, Vinh Long University of Technical Education and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education; leaders of Thap Muoi district; vocational education institutions and the host unit Thap Muoi Secondary School; units, organizations and individuals... who have supported and created all favorable conditions for the success of the teaching conference...".

It can be said that the 2023 Dong Thap Provincial Vocational Education Teachers' Teaching Conference has contributed to promoting the emulation movement "Teach well - learn well"; encouraging lecturers and teachers to continuously study and improve their professional capacity, contributing to training high-quality human resources. At the same time, discovering, recognizing and honoring good vocational education teachers; motivating teachers to strive and improve themselves, meeting the requirements of innovation and improving the quality of vocational education. This is also an opportunity for lecturers and teachers with high achievements selected from the grassroots teaching conference to exchange and learn from initiatives, teaching experiences and creating equipment models... After the teaching conference, the Organizing Committee will select outstanding teachers to continue to foster and improve their teaching capacity and skills and will represent Dong Thap province to attend the 2024 National Teaching Conference in Quang Ninh province.
