(NLĐO) - The trading volume of MFS shares in today's session reached over 750,000 units, the highest since trading on UPCoM.

Contrary to the sluggish market trend, shares of MobiFone Service Joint Stock Company (MFS) surged to the ceiling price just one hour after the opening of trading on January 13th, reaching 42,500 VND per share. This is the highest price since July 2024.

Liquidity for MFS shares in today's session reached over 750,000 units, the highest since trading on UPCoM. The buy order at the ceiling price at the end of the session on January 13th reached 218,000 units.

The surge in MobiFone Service shares follows news that its parent company, MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation, is expected to be transferred to the Ministry of Public Security , according to a plan recently reported to the Government by the Ministry of Interior.

MobiFone Service was established in 2008, operating in the fields of building and leasing BTS stations, providing telephone customer service, installing and maintaining telecommunications equipment, etc. The company's main partner is MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation.

Currently, the corporation is the largest shareholder, holding 31.26% of the shares in MobiFone Service.

In terms of business results, in 2023, MobiFone Service recorded revenue of VND 396.9 billion and after-tax profit of VND 20.3 billion.

In 2024, MobiFone Service planned for a decline in business performance, with revenue exceeding 395.4 billion VND and after-tax profit exceeding 15 billion VND, representing decreases of 2.6% and 26% respectively compared to the previous year.

The management believes the business is facing significant challenges due to declining revenue from core services and a sharp increase in labor costs caused by rising regional minimum wages.

Recently, on December 23, 2024, Mobifone Service disbursed 18 billion VND to pay the 2023 dividend at a rate of 25%, lower than the 30% of 2022.

Regarding personnel matters, at the extraordinary general meeting held in November 2024, the General Shareholders' Meeting approved the dismissal of Mr. Tuong Duy Phuc from the Board of Directors. Simultaneously, Ms. Dinh Hoa Mai was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors for the term 2023-2028.

The Board of Directors subsequently appointed Ms. Dinh Hoa Mai as Chairman of Mobifone Service effective November 20th.
