In the Beethoven and Rachmaninov concert, the audience will enjoy masterpieces by composers Ludwig van Beethoven and Sergei Rachmaninov. The program is staged and conducted by conductor and Meritorious Artist Tran Vuong Thach, and will also feature the participation of international pianist Nguyen Bich Tra, returning from the United Kingdom.
Pianist Nguyen Bich Tra (Tra Nguyen) is the daughter of People's Artist Tra Giang. Bich Tra went abroad to study at a young age, and after graduating, she lived in London. Currently, she frequently travels to perform and teach music in the UK, Hong Kong, and Vietnam. She was the first Vietnamese artist to secure a solo recording contract with Naxos, one of the world's leading record labels. Her three solo CDs, released globally by Naxos since late 2011, helped her showcase her talent through numerous competitions and gain recognition at international music awards.

She was also one of the top 10 outstanding young people in Vietnam in 2002 and the first Vietnamese person to be awarded the ARAM (Associate of the Royal Academy of Music, a member of the Royal Academy of Music, UK) title for her outstanding musical contributions in 2013.

The concert opened with Mikhail Glinka's Ruslan and Ludmila overture. Considered the father of modern Russian music, Glinka's works, imbued with national spirit, have strongly influenced all subsequent Russian composers, from Rimsky-Korskov and Tchaikovsky to Stravinsky.
After his death, the work became a resounding success and is one of the classic operas of Russia. The overture consists of two main themes based on Russian, Finnish, Tartar, and Persian music, all brilliantly staged, with Theme 1 rhythmic and leisurely, and Theme 2 lyrical and evocative.

Next, the audience will be treated to a masterpiece marking Rachmaninov's spectacular return to piano composition: Piano Concerto No. 2. The captivating melodies, with their diverse colors and sophisticated orchestration, have made this piece one of the finest symphonies of the post-Romantic era. Both works will be performed by the masterful pianist Nguyen Bich Tra.
Described by Robert Schumann as "a slender Greek maiden between two Norse giants," Beethoven's Symphony No. 4 in B-flat major will occupy the entire second part of the concert.
He wrote this work in the summer of 1806. The piano solo shines like a brilliant highlight, the beautiful melody blending with the melodious sound of the strings, seamlessly combining the leaping rhythm of the minuet with the fast tempos of the allegro. All of this creates a perfect piece of music, full of subtle nuances from climax to contemplation.
