Just days after falling to Inter Milan in the quarter-finals of the 2024/25 Champions League, Bayern Munich made an angry comeback in the Bundesliga. Heidenheim became the unwilling victims of the "Bavarian Tigers"' anger when they suffered a heavy 0-4 defeat right at home.
Coach Vincent Kompany and his players entered the match with the mindset of winning to forget the pain. Bayern increased the speed and pressure from the start and it only took 13 minutes to break the deadlock. Harry Kane opened the scoring with an unstoppable shot.
Bayern did not stop there, continuously making the opponent's goal shake. Konrad Laimer and Kingsley Coman scored, giving the away team a 3-0 lead before the first half ended. Everything happened like a whirlwind pouring through Heidenheim's weak defense.
The second half saw the one-sided game continue. Despite taking some key players off the pitch to rotate their squad, Bayern did not slow down. In the 56th minute, Joshua Kimmich ended the goal feast with a precise shot, sending the ball into the corner of the net, leaving goalkeeper Kevin Muller helpless.
Heidenheim were completely powerless to fight back. Statistics showed that Bayern controlled the ball up to 69%, had 11 shots on target out of 18 shots in the whole match, made 771 passes with an accuracy rate of 92%.
The victory helped Bayern ease the disappointment of being eliminated from the Champions League, thereby consolidating their position at the top of the Bundesliga table. Coach Kompany's team leads Bayer Leverkusen by 9 points despite playing one more match.
