(Dan Tri Newspaper) - The Military University of Culture and Arts, in collaboration with the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet Theatre, has staged the musical "Red Aspiration" about the theme of soldiers.
To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024), the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024), and the 80th anniversary of the General Political Department's traditional day (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024), the Military University of Culture and Arts, in collaboration with the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet Theatre, will stage and perform the musical " Red Aspiration" in December in Hanoi .

Colonel Hoang Van Chuc, Deputy Political Commissar of the Military University of Culture and Arts, said that the musical was based on a literary script by Dr. Nguyen Dang Chuong, adapted into a musical by Lieutenant Colonel Pham Thi Van Anh, with music composed by Colonel Nguyen Xuan Thuy and Major, musician Do Bao.
Stage director Meritorious Artist Lê Ánh Tuyết and the artists staged the work, under the artistic direction of Colonel Hồ Trọng Tuấn and Meritorious Artist Phan Mạnh Đức. Conductor Đồng Quang Vinh led the orchestra.
"Red Aspiration" is a modern musical set in the family of Major General, Professor, and Doctor Hoang An, former Deputy Director of the Military Medical Academy. The work reflects contemporary issues faced by intellectuals in the military, from life ideals and dedication to difficulties in family relationships and changes in modern society.
At the same time, the musical is inspiring, moving, and encourages people to respect and preserve traditional values, to strive towards noble ideals, great ambitions, and a desire to contribute, illuminating the spirit of dedication for the peace of the Fatherland and the well-being and happiness of the people, as embodied by the soldiers of "Uncle Ho's Army" in peacetime.
According to the organizers, the musical is of special significance, with a grand scale and scope, featuring a large number of artists and a fresh, distinctive style of musical theater performance.

"Red Aspiration" breathes the spirit of contemporary Broadway musicals, utilizing a diverse range of musical styles (from ballads and pop to rock). The stories and music in the musical are presented from a modern perspective, making it accessible to younger audiences.
The musical features performances by two orchestras with 60 musicians, 20 choirs, 12 singers, and 20 actors from the Military University of Culture and Arts and the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet Theatre.
The play features many artists such as: Meritorious Artist Huy Duc, Le Xuan Hao, Dao To Loan, Trinh Phuong, Tran Bich Ngoc, Ngo Duc, Nguyen Huong, Hoang Son, Huu Thang, Ngo Huong Diep, Truong Lam…
Major Do Bao, the composer of the musical, said that the highlight of the musical is that 100% of the artists participate in live performances. This is one of the strict professional requirements of musical performances. Audiences will be immersed in authentic sounds, from the sounds of stringed instruments and flutes to the raw, powerful voices of the artists.
"We want the audience to experience the subtlety and authenticity of the sound and expression directly, without any pre-recorded tracks. We hope to bring the ultimate and most perfect experience to the audience," shared musician Do Bao.
The musical "Red Aspiration" will be performed at 8 PM on December 6th and 7th at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Labor Cultural Palace in Hanoi.
