Mass mobilization work in Hung Xuyen

Through appropriate methods and activities, and by building practical "effective mass mobilization" models, mass mobilization work in Hung Xuyen commune, Doan Hung district, has yielded tangible results and had a strong ripple effect in the community.

Many roads in residential areas within the commune have been equipped with streetlights, contributing to ensuring security and order in the locality.

Dao Phuong Thao's family belongs to a poor household in Nghinh Lap area, Hung Xuyen commune. The three sisters live in a dilapidated temporary house, facing extremely difficult living conditions and relying on the help of relatives after their parents divorced and their father recently passed away.

In light of this situation, the District Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department advised the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee to support the construction of a "Mass Mobilization House" for Thao's family, valued at 180 million VND. This includes 70 million VND from the district's "Mass Mobilization House" fund, 10 million VND from the district's "For the Poor" fund; 10 million VND from the Party Committee, local government, and the Social Welfare Committee of the commune; over 85 million VND from donations by the commune's Red Cross Society and the people; and contributions from various agencies and businesses... to help Thao and her siblings stabilize their lives. The house is expected to be completed in December 2024.

Besides doing a good job in supporting housing construction, in 2024, the People's Mobilization Block of Hung Xuyen commune also implemented many practical activities during the "Month of People's Mobilization" such as building a model of "bright alleys, beautiful houses"; repairing and cleaning memorials and monuments to heroic martyrs; cleaning traffic corridors on inter-village and inter-commune roads; building shelters of compassion and solidarity houses; self-governing models for environmental protection in residential areas... Over 70% of the main roads and inter-hamlet roads in the commune have lighting systems. In some sparsely populated areas where conditions are not yet suitable for building streetlights, neighborhood groups have propagated and mobilized each household to install streetlights in front of their gates. 80% of households maintain good hygiene, plant flowers and ornamental plants in front of their gates, creating a green, clean, and beautiful landscape.

Comrade Nguyen Van Doan - Secretary of the Song Phuong 1 neighborhood Party Branch, said: Following the direction of the Party Committee and the People's Committee of the commune to implement the "Security Streetlights" model of effective mass mobilization, the Song Phuong 1 neighborhood Party Branch has propagated and mobilized people to contribute funds and labor to carry out the project together. Since the streetlights were installed, people's travel has become more convenient and safe, strengthening community bonds and solidarity in building the homeland, contributing to improving the criteria for building new rural areas...

The implementation of grassroots democracy has always been a priority for the Party Committee and the People's Government of Hung Xuyen commune, effectively adhering to the motto "The people know, the people discuss, the people do, the people inspect, the people supervise, and the people benefit." Regarding information to be made public, the People's Committee of the commune directs the dissemination of information to the people through various forms such as public posting at community cultural centers, announcements on the commune's radio system, and public meetings on socio-economic development plans, fundraising activities, the use of various funds and revenues collected from the people; the subjects and rates of fees and charges directly collected by the People's Committee; and policies, plans, and eligible borrowers for production development loans. The review of poor and near-poor households, the selection of recipients for social assistance, support for the construction of housing for poor and disadvantaged families, the issuance of health insurance cards, and fundraising campaigns are all conducted openly and transparently.
