(NLĐO) - At its 8th session, the National Assembly approved the appointments of the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Transport.

On the afternoon of November 30, in his closing remarks at the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man stated that after 29.5 working days, the National Assembly had completed all the planned agenda items.

At this session, the National Assembly considered and decided on a very large volume of work, including many difficult and complex issues related to many sectors and fields, and pressing practical needs. The National Assembly voted to pass 18 laws with a high percentage of approval; and considered and passed 21 resolutions. These included a Resolution on specific mechanisms and policies to address difficulties and obstacles related to projects and land issues in inspection, audit, and court rulings in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang City, and Khanh Hoa Province.

Regarding personnel matters, the Chairman of the National Assembly emphasized that they had been carried out strictly in accordance with the regulations of the Party and the laws of the State. Accordingly, the National Assembly elected the President; elected members of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, the Secretary General of the National Assembly; approved the appointments of the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Transport; and judges of the Supreme People's Court. At the same time, other personnel matters were handled within its authority and achieved high consensus and unity among the National Assembly deputies.

At its 8th session, the National Assembly also analyzed and frankly pointed out the difficulties, challenges, and shortcomings of the economy, and proposed many specific solutions. The Government is requested to study and incorporate the opinions of National Assembly deputies to promptly and effectively implement the commitments made to the National Assembly, voters, and the people nationwide.

The Chairman of the National Assembly also requested the Government, the National Assembly's agencies, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy, the State Audit Office, and other relevant agencies to focus on directing, thoroughly understanding, and promptly issuing all detailed regulations to effectively implement the laws and resolutions recently passed by the National Assembly.

In addition, it is necessary to regularly review and evaluate the effectiveness and quality of policies after their promulgation in order to make timely adjustments, additions, and amendments; proactively, actively, and urgently build a legal framework for new issues and trends, creating breakthroughs in national development.

According to the Chairman of the National Assembly, in the spirit of Resolution No. 10 of the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam on the restructuring and streamlining of the organizational apparatus, and the important directive of General Secretary To Lam at the opening session of the 8th National Assembly session, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly and the National Assembly's agencies will continue to strongly innovate and urgently restructure and consolidate the organizational apparatus to be "lean, efficient, and strong," improving the effectiveness and efficiency of operations, while restructuring the staff to have sufficient qualities and capabilities commensurate with the tasks.
