The company's operational objective is to successfully fulfill the tasks assigned or contracted by the Vietnam Railways Corporation or other competent organizations in the routine maintenance of railway infrastructure, ensuring the technical condition of bridges and roads and railway traffic safety.

The company's predecessor was the Saigon - Muong Man Railway Area, established on October 1, 1976. Over nearly 47 years, with its main nhiệm vụ being the management and maintenance of railway infrastructure and construction projects, the company has made significant contributions to maintaining the quality of railway tracks and bridges, and ensuring train safety in the areas where it receives orders.

Over the years, the company has promoted technological innovation and proactively invested in many construction machines such as excavators, concrete mixers, power hammers, stamping machines, planers, compactors, and many other specialized machines. The gradual mechanization of railway maintenance, such as the use of Chinese-made compactors and Japanese-made handheld road compactors, has contributed to improving project quality, increasing labor productivity, and enhancing the company's production capacity.

With its capabilities and reputation in ensuring the quality of projects it has participated in, the company has been commissioned by the Vietnam Railways Corporation and has won bids for numerous railway repair, renovation, and upgrading projects over the years.

Saigon Railway Joint Stock Company is the contractor for the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway line.

Notable projects:

- Construction and restoration of the large Dong Nai Bridge (Ghenh Bridge) at Km 1699+860, on the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway line;

- Contracts under the 7,000 billion VND project (renovation and upgrading of essential infrastructure on the Nha Trang - Saigon section of the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway line);

- Package No. 17 for the construction of a railway bridge at Km 1606+658 (railway culvert under the Bien Lac - Ham Tan water supply canal project) under the Investment and Construction Project of the Bien Lac - Ham Tan water supply canal, Tanh Linh district and Ham Tan district;

- Construction package for the periodic repair of Go Dua Bridge, Km 1715+396, on the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway line;

- Construction contract for the periodic repair of switches 103 and 104 at Bien Hoa station and switches 103, 104, 105, and 106 at Binh Trieu station, on the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway line.

Not only has Saigon Railway Corporation affirmed its reputation in railway projects, but it will also continue to uphold its tradition and invest in improving its capacity to participate in the construction of other transportation projects, ensuring progress, technical and aesthetic quality, and building trust with customers.
