CPI in April increased by 0.02%

On May 6, the City Statistics Office announced that the consumer price index (CPI) in the city in April 2025 increased by 0.02% compared to the previous month and increased by 2.23% compared to the same period in 2024. The average CPI in the first 4 months of 2025 increased by 2.83% compared to the same period in 2024. In the 0.02% increase in CPI in April 2025, 8/11 groups of goods and services had price indexes that increased; 2/11 groups of goods had price indexes that decreased and 1/11 groups of goods and services remained unchanged compared to the previous month.

The commodity groups with increases compared to the previous month include: housing and construction materials increased by 0.73%; other goods and services increased by 0.44%; post and telecommunications increased by 0.22%; garment, footwear and hats increased by 0.2%; culture, entertainment and tourism increased by 0.19%; household equipment and appliances increased by 0.13%; beverages and tobacco increased by 0.04%; medicine and medical services increased by 0.01%.

The commodity groups with a decrease compared to the previous month include: the transportation group decreased by 1.18%; the food and catering services group decreased by 0.17%. The education group remained unchanged. The increased demand for construction materials, electrical equipment, public transport services, and tourism services due to increased demand were the main reasons for the CPI in April increasing by 0.02% compared to the previous month.
