Growing and progressing together with your child.

The vibrant three months of summer have come to an end, leaving children with beautiful memories. For many parents, summer is a wonderful opportunity to accompany their children in physical training, life skills development, talent development, and discovering interesting things in life… Through this, children become more mature and confident as they enter the new school year.

Ms. Hong Oanh always accompanies her child in developing skills and improving physical fitness.

This summer, although there were no family trips , it was a memorable vacation for Ms. Hien's children in Ninh Kieu ward. Due to a busy work schedule, Ms. Hien had to send her two children back to her hometown in July to be looked after by their maternal grandparents. Their grandfather, a retired soldier, is quite strict. From the very first day the children arrived, he declared: "You are not allowed to play on your phones all day. You must wake up at 6 a.m., get ready, and help with household chores. Every day you can play in the fields as much as you like, but you still have to spend time studying. Anyone who disobeys will be punished."

The grandfather's announcement flustered Hien's two children, who were used to staying up late playing games and sleeping in until noon. Yet, after only a few days, both children adapted. Every time Hien called to check on them, the children excitedly boasted about going to the fields to catch snails and fish… Their grandparents also mentioned that the children no longer whined about playing games all day or stayed cooped up in their air-conditioned rooms. The children are now used to waking up early, helping their grandparents with housework, and playing with their friends. Hien shared: “I am very happy to see my children change and mature. These interesting and beneficial experiences fill them with energy. As they prepare for the new school year, my children have voluntarily packed their books and school supplies.”

While many families worry that their children aren't mentally ready for school after the summer break, Ms. Hong Oanh's family in Ninh Kieu ward is delighted to see their children happily entering the new school year. This is because, throughout the past three months of summer, she and her children planned a balanced schedule that combined studying, playing, and physical exercise. According to Ms. Oanh, even though discipline and schedules are relaxed during the summer, creating a flexible timetable is still essential. On weekend mornings, the whole family goes to the park or other open, green places with fresh air to practice yoga. This allows the children to run, jump, and play in the morning sun. In addition, Ms. Hong Oanh enrolls her children in extracurricular classes according to their interests. Her 8th-grade son takes martial arts classes, and her younger daughter participates in a dance class. These activities help the children improve their health and socialize with friends. Ms. Oanh also sets rules for her children, ensuring they wake up and go to bed on time. Toys and personal belongings must be kept neat and tidy; children should proactively do household chores as assigned by their parents, while also dedicating time to studying… In all these activities, the couple always accompanies their children and sets a good example for them to follow.

Ms. Hoang's family in Binh Thuy ward gave their children a relaxing and meaningful summer vacation. During the three months of summer break, her daughter didn't attend many extra classes, instead spending most of her time participating in cooking and craft classes according to her interests. Ms. Hoang also always stayed close, guiding her daughter with household chores. Ms. Hoang revealed: "Although she's only in sixth grade, my daughter can already cook rice, fry eggs, wash dishes, and clean the house... I can go on business trips for a few days with peace of mind because my daughter helps with the cooking." In addition, on weekends, she often takes her daughter to nearby tourist destinations to experience nature and learn survival skills. This not only creates a relaxed spirit but also helps her daughter improve her health and physical fitness to enter the new school year with enthusiasm.

Many parents share the view that summer vacation is not only a time for rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation, but also an opportunity for family members to slow down and spend more time together. Summer vacation is also an ideal time for parents to teach their children essential life skills, helping them develop self-discipline, responsibility, and independence. Through care, sharing, and cherished family moments, these experiences become meaningful pieces of a puzzle, helping children become more confident in exploring , learning, and developing themselves; ready to conquer the challenges of the new school year.
