From a rural school to become a bright spot in the province's education

Tam Nong High School (Tam Nong commune, Phu Tho province) was established on July 15, 1965, in the context of the US expanding the war to the North. At that time, the school only had 3 classes with 187 students and 9 teachers, had to evacuate many times, built classrooms with bamboo, dug bomb shelters.

Teachers and students both studied and fought, many students went to war, among them 85 excellent students heroically sacrificed for the Fatherland. Those years forged the resilient spirit and will to overcome difficulties of Tam Nong teachers and students - the foundation for all future successes.

Through the war, generations of teachers and students have persistently strived to maintain the quality of teaching and learning. Entering the period of innovation, Tam Nong has quickly affirmed its position in the education system of Phu Tho province.

60 years - a journey, generations of teachers and students of the school have united, bonded, overcome many hardships and challenges. From the years of war to the renovation period, all together have written a golden page of history of good teaching - good learning tradition.

Accordingly, over the past 60 years, Tam Nong High School has trained over 21,000 high school graduates. From this school, thousands of people from many generations have grown up, with many outstanding contributions in the fields of politics, military, economics, science, education, literature and art.

In particular, the 2024-2025 school year marks a remarkable step forward in that journey. In the provincial excellent student competition, the school achieved excellent results with 63/63 candidates winning prizes, all teams were among the leading groups in the province.

Along with that, the high school graduation rate has reached 100% for many consecutive years, the university entrance rate has been stable at over 80%, affirming the comprehensive, sustainable and equal quality of education between the general and the key. With its contributions over 60 years, Tam Nong High School has been honored to receive many noble awards: Third-class Labor Medal (2001), Second-class (2005), First-class (2010) and First-class for the second time (2020).

In the past 10 years, the School has received 2 Emulation Flags from the Provincial People's Committee, 1 Emulation Flag and 3 Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training, and 1 Emulation Flag from the Prime Minister... In the 2024 - 2025 school year, the School continues to be awarded the Emulation Flag by the Provincial People's Committee, firmly affirming its leading position in the high school sector in the whole province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Bui Thi Minh - Deputy Secretary of Phu Tho Provincial Party Committee acknowledged and commended the achievements that generations of teachers, staff and students of Tam Nong High School have achieved during 60 years of construction and growth.

The Deputy Secretary of Phu Tho Provincial Party Committee hopes that students will not only study "literacy" well but also practice "personality" well, know how to self-study, self-discover, cultivate life skills, maintain morality and nurture dreams and aspirations to contribute to their homeland and country.

In the context that the province is implementing Resolution No. 71 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development, aiming to become an educational center of the Northern Midlands and Mountains region by 2030, the Deputy Secretary of the Phu Tho Provincial Party Committee requested the school to promote innovation in teaching methods, apply technology, focus on skills education and career guidance...

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Hung - Principal of Tam Nong High School emphasized that these achievements are the result of 60 years of persistent efforts, the attention of leaders at all levels of Phu Tho province, the Department of Education and Training of Phu Tho province, local authorities at all levels, and the support of generations of parents and former students.
