Tonight, May 12th, the Tran Huu Trang Cai Luong Theatre will perform the Cai Luong play "The Lute of Tears" by author Huynh Anh, directed by Meritorious Artist Le Trung Thao.
This is one of the Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera) plays that has left a deep impression on the artists of the Tran Huu Trang Theater thanks to its emotionally rich content, exploring the fate of people amidst the vicissitudes of life and their love for art. Through many performances, the play has left a lasting impression on Cai Luong fans because of its tightly constructed psychological layers and many emotionally rich excerpts.

This revival brings together familiar artists from the Ho Chi Minh City Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera) stage such as: People's Artist Thanh Ngan (as Ut Luom), People's Artist My Hang (as Tam U), Meritorious Artist Vo Thanh Phe (as Truong Giang), Nguyen Van Khoi (as Thanh), Thanh Toan (as Lao Chung), Kim Luan (as Ha Phuong), artist Thy Phuong (as Mrs. Bau Thai), artist Dung Nhi (as Nhan) and artist Doan Minh (as Hoang Son).
According to Meritorious Artist Le Trung Thao, the team focuses on refreshing the stage rhythm, increasing emotional interaction, and building a pace that suits the tastes of today's young audience. The staging is handled more vividly, harmoniously combining traditional elements of Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera) with modern theatrical language, promising to create more appeal for young viewers.
The Tran Huu Trang Theatre is bringing the play "The Lute of Tears" back to the stage as part of its strategy to continue revitalizing valuable Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera) works, contributing to bringing traditional theatre closer to today's audience.
