Mr. Hoang Van Thao, Head of the Secondary Education Department of the Department of Education and Training and Head of the "Igniting AI" group, said: The "Igniting AI" group was established at the beginning of 2025 with 40 members who are passionate and dedicated teachers who love new knowledge. They are the core force in conducting in-depth research on skills, sharing experiences in applying artificial intelligence in teaching, and are ready to support colleagues in accessing science and technology.
To maintain regular activity, the team develops weekly and monthly plans with specific topics. The team leader regularly posts new lectures and materials on artificial intelligence. Other members also actively participate by sharing their personal and organizational products and experiences with other team members, such as: utilizing applications to support learning; using artificial intelligence to create short films to illustrate lectures; applying digital platforms for grading and creating exam questions, etc.
Besides sharing online, group members actively share their knowledge and experience through training programs organized by the Department of Education and Training. At schools, members of these groups have become "leaders" in the digital transformation movement with many specific activities such as internal training, integrating digital platforms to support students in reviewing knowledge, and developing lesson plans using artificial intelligence. As a result, the knowledge and experience in applying artificial intelligence from the "Igniting AI" group has spread to many schools throughout the province.
Ms. Lanh Huong Lan, a teacher at the Provincial Ethnic Boarding High School, said: "As a member of the 'Igniting AI' group, I've learned a lot of valuable experiences and effectively applied them to my teaching. Through research and study, I've integrated Google tools into the classroom, leveraging the features of artificial intelligence to support students. Students upload learning materials to the platform, and the system generates questions related to the lesson for them to review. I also proactively share this method with my colleagues so we can all apply it together, aiming to improve the quality of teaching and learning."
Drawing on the experiences of "Igniting AI," many teachers in the province have flexibly applied it to practice, creating lively and engaging lessons that spark students' interest in learning. A prime example is the lesson on the Earth's movement around the solar system in the 6th grade Physics curriculum at Tam Thanh Secondary School, Tam Thanh Ward. Artificial intelligence helps visually simulate the Earth's movement, the formation of seasons, and the tilt and direction of the Earth's axis at the spring equinox, summer solstice, autumn equinox, and winter solstice. As a result, students absorb knowledge more easily and are more interested in the subject.
Vu Khoi Nguyen, a student in class 6A5 at Tam Thanh Secondary School in Tam Thanh ward, said: "The lessons taught by our teachers using information technology and artificial intelligence are very lively and engaging, helping us to easily understand and remember the knowledge in the lessons."
Since the beginning of 2025, the "Igniting AI" group has trained and guided over 12,000 teachers in the province on applying artificial intelligence to teaching. The group's vibrant and practical activities have contributed to spreading a spirit of proactiveness, creativity, and technological mastery among teachers. As a result, more and more schools are applying artificial intelligence to teaching and learning, especially in areas such as lesson planning, question setting, and grading. These efforts contribute to improving the quality of teaching and learning and gradually promoting digital transformation in the education sector.
