In implementing activities to care for union members and workers during Tet (Lunar New Year), the Chairwoman of the City Federation of Labor, Phan Thi Thuy Linh, emphasized the importance of implementation at the grassroots level, focusing on union members and workers directly involved in production. In 2026, the City Federation of Labor will carry out Tet activities for workers including: the "Tet Reunion - Spring Gratitude to the Party" program and the "Trade Union Tet Market"; supporting union members and workers in difficult circumstances; and the "Trade Union Tet Journey".
As part of the program to support union members and workers in difficult circumstances, the City Federation of Labor plans to visit and present gifts to 22,000 union members and workers; the support will be in cash at a rate of 1 million VND per person, funded by the union's finances.
The beneficiaries of this support are union members and workers in difficult circumstances with low incomes; those who have suffered work accidents, occupational diseases, or serious illnesses; those affected by natural disasters, storms, and floods; those who have experienced reduced working hours or job loss; union members and workers from families entitled to preferential policies; workers who have not been able to return home for Tet for many years; and workers who do not return home but stay to work and produce during Tet.
In parallel, approximately 1,000 disadvantaged workers in self-managed worker groups in rented housing areas, single parents, and workers residing in the Hoa Cam Industrial Zone Workers' Housing will receive gifts from the City Federation of Labor during Tet.
The Trade Union's Tet Journey program continues with the Trade Union Bus Trip - Spring 2026 and the Trade Union Train Trip - Spring 2026. The city's Trade Union is supporting 2,000 train tickets for the Trade Union Train Trip - Spring 2026 program. The Trade Union Bus Trip - Spring 2026 will be organized based on the actual registration needs of union members and workers.
The Trade Union's Tet Journey program prioritizes union members facing difficulties or those who haven't returned home for Tet in many years. The program is particularly humane as it provides train and bus tickets for entire families, allowing everyone to travel together on the same trip back home for Tet. The Trade Union's Tet Journey will take place from the 24th to the 29th of the lunar month, promising a safe and secure Tet holiday for union members far from home.
A special highlight in caring for union members and workers during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Horse was the "Tet Reunion - Spring Gratitude to the Party" program and the "Trade Union Tet Market".
The "Tet Reunion - Spring of Gratitude to the Party" program includes a series of activities: the opening of the 2026 Trade Union Tet Market, discount and promotional stalls, legal consultations, gift-giving activities for union members and workers in difficult circumstances, distribution of train and bus tickets to union members; distribution of Tet gifts from central and local leaders, and organization of fun activities and prize-winning games at the market.
This is the first "Tet Reunion - Spring Gratitude to the Party" program and Trade Union Tet Market organized after the merger of the Da Nang City Federation of Labor and the former Quang Nam province. Therefore, the program will be held at two locations: Ban Thach ward and Hoa Khanh ward, so that all union members in the newly formed Da Nang city can benefit from the Trade Union's program.
The city's Labor Union has allocated 50,000 shopping vouchers, each worth 100,000 VND, for union members to use at Tet (Lunar New Year) markets.
According to the leaders of the City Federation of Labor, in parallel with organizing city-level activities, the Standing Committee of the City Federation of Labor also directed grassroots trade unions to proactively carry out activities to care for union members at their respective levels; mobilize resources from businesses to give Tet gifts to union members, organize transportation, and provide train tickets for workers to return home for Tet.
A special feature of the 2026 Tet (Lunar New Year) welfare program is the grassroots trade union's focus on organizing a year-end union meal. This is a new activity, building upon the positive results of the trade union meal program implemented in the past.
The year-end union dinner is an opportunity for workers, the union organization, employers, and local government leaders to share their thoughts and feelings, creating an atmosphere of solidarity and understanding, thereby building trust and attachment among union members and workers towards the union organization and the enterprise.
With a series of plans implemented to concretize the care for union members and workers, it is believed that, not only will they have a "Tet" like in previous years, but in Spring 2026, union members and workers throughout the city will be able to "enjoy Tet" as directed by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor .
