The quiet support and simple words of encouragement from parents become a precious source of emotional strength for students preparing for exams.

At over 100 exam locations across the city on the first day of the exam, most parents who dropped off their children stayed outside the school gates or sat in cafes waiting for their children.
Mr. Le Phi Hai, whose child is taking the exam at Tran Phu High School, shared that this is the second time he has taken his child to an exam, but the feeling of anxiety and nervousness remains as strong as the first time. Although he knows his child has good academic abilities and has prepared quite well for the exam, he still feels uneasy, so he decided to stay near the exam site to wait for his child to finish the test.
According to Mr. Hai, for parents, every important exam for their child is a memorable milestone, mixed with expectations and pressure. He only hopes that his child will maintain a calm and confident mindset to do well on the exam and achieve their goals.
At the exam site at Thai Phien High School, after encouraging their child before entering the exam room, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tu and Ms. Phan Thi Man chose to sit at a nearby cafe to wait for their child.
Mr. Tư said that his son registered Tiểu La High School as his first choice, so the whole family has high expectations, and the son himself is very determined to achieve his goal.

Although he trusted in his son's preparation, as a father who always loves and worries about his child, he couldn't feel at ease returning home and wanted to stay near the exam site to watch over and encourage his son from behind.
He shared: "Knowing that my child has studied very hard, the family just hopes that he can remain calm and confident to do well on the exam. Sitting here waiting, although nervous, feels more reassuring, like being with him during an important moment."
Because their home was quite far from the exam location at Phan Boi Chau High School (Huong Tra ward), Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy (from Chien Dan commune) brought her child to the exam quite early.
Ms. Thuy's child registered Vo Nguyen Giap High School (Chien Dan commune) as their first choice and Nguyen Duc High School (Phu Ninh commune) as their second choice.
Despite some concerns about the high competition rate at her child's first-choice school, Ms. Thuy still has confidence in her child's preparation, knowledge acquisition, and test-taking skills.

"Seeing my child enter the exam site with such confidence, I felt somewhat relieved. The exam and procedures lasted nearly three hours, and the weather was hot and humid, but I couldn't bear to leave. I wanted to see the moment my child left the exam site so I could encourage them," Ms. Thuy shared.
Mr. Do Van Phung (from Quang Phu ward) also arrived to pick up his child at the Phan Boi Chau High School exam site (Huong Tra ward) an hour earlier than the scheduled end date of the Literature exam.
Mr. Phung said that after his son entered the exam center, he returned home but still felt anxious, wondering how his son had performed and whether the hot weather had affected his mental state during the exam.
He also instructed the family to prepare a good meal so that his son could eat and rest at home before taking the Foreign Language exam in the afternoon.
"Seeing the first candidates leave the exam site one by one, I felt even more anxious. When I met my child, I didn't ask too many questions about the exam results, hiding my worries, and instead offering words of encouragement to boost their spirits and help them do well in the next two subjects," Mr. Phung shared.

The exams will be over, but the image of parents silently waiting for their children outside the school gates will remain. Their quiet companionship, trusting gazes, and simple words of encouragement are invaluable sources of motivation, instilling confidence in the students as they confidently navigate this crucial milestone in their lives.
