The Tan Lap neighborhood is home to 120 households of Nung and Tay ethnic minorities, comprising hundreds of people. These people have been settled in Tan Lap for a long time. Their lives are relatively stable thanks to the attention and support of the local government, armed forces units, and benefactors. In particular, with the policy of building new rural areas and improving the quality of life for the people, Phuoc Tan ward and the construction sector of Dong Nai City have upgraded many internal roads and alleyways, especially in areas with a large ethnic minority population. This achievement is due to the joint efforts of the armed forces units stationed in the area.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Gia Tu, Deputy Political Commissar of the Phuoc Tan Ward Military Command, said: "The alley in Tan Lap neighborhood has been concreted for several years now, but it lacks a lighting system, making nighttime travel difficult and posing a safety risk, affecting local security and order. Through on-site visits, surveys, and understanding the needs of the residents, the Ward Military Command reported to the Ward Party Committee and People's Committee, coordinating with the Command of Defense Area 1 - Long Thanh to mobilize businesses and philanthropists to sponsor a community outreach program, with a focus on completing the lighting project for the alley in Group 16, Tan Lap neighborhood - an area with a large ethnic minority population."
Also as part of the community outreach program, the units coordinated to provide free medical examinations, health care consultations, and medicine to 200 people; handed over one solidarity house; cleaned up and repaired dilapidated roads; organized cultural and sports exchanges, traditional bamboo dances, and a heartwarming meal for the military and civilians. Ms. Ngo Thi Hoa, Head of Tan Lap neighborhood, expressed: “For a long time, the people of Tan Lap neighborhood, especially those in group 16, have been hoping for the lighting of the alleyway, but we haven't been able to raise the funds. So when representatives from the Ward Military Command came to survey, the people were very excited. Since the project was completed and the alleyway was lit, the whole neighborhood has been bustling and cheerful. People no longer worry when they have to travel at night on this road. It's truly a bright road, a heartwarming display of military and civilian solidarity.”
