Fostering a love for the sea and islands in students.
At the briefing, representatives and officers of Brigade 167, Region 2 of the Navy, informed the attendees about the position, role, potential, and strengths of the East Sea and Vietnam's seas and islands; the current situation in the East Sea; the results of fulfilling the task of protecting maritime sovereignty ; and the tasks and solutions of the naval forces in protecting the sovereignty of the Fatherland's seas and islands.
Through this awareness campaign, student delegates from Long Huu High School gained basic information about the situation in the East Sea, the Party and State's views and policies on protecting maritime sovereignty and islands, helping to further cultivate love for their homeland, the sea, and islands. In particular, they emphasized the view that Hoang Sa and Truong Sa belong to Vietnam, and that every Vietnamese person is proud and responsible for protecting and asserting this sovereignty.
Student Nguyen Thi Nhu Huynh, from class 10C3, expressed: "During the school year, teachers have taught and guided us about love for our homeland, our country, and our seas and islands. Today, the soldiers of Brigade 167, Region 2 of the Navy, shared more useful information and impressive images, helping me understand more about the duties of the naval forces. From that, I understand and love our seas and islands even more. I will strive harder in my studies and, together with my teachers, spread awareness to my family and friends about the seas and islands, and the duties of naval soldiers, to foster patriotism and love for the seas and islands in more people."

Many students affirmed that, thanks to the presentations by the officers and the vivid illustrations, they understood more about the importance of the sea and islands to the country's development, and the directions for further progress from the sea and islands.
Through this, we aim to raise awareness among many people about the profound significance and importance of the sea and islands, encouraging them to contribute to protecting our homeland's sea and islands, especially students, helping them understand and motivating them to study well.
Student Tran Chau Gia Bao, from class 11C4, shared: "I've researched the Navy and believe that studying there would give me more opportunities to participate in protecting the country's seas and islands. However, I can't confirm whether I'll pursue it yet, as it depends on my academic performance and health in 12th grade whether I'll meet the requirements for military training."
Asserting sovereignty
For the elderly, the sea and islands are an inseparable part of the homeland, and everyone has a responsibility to preserve and spread that spirit to the younger generation. Ms. Nguyen Thi Nem, from Hamlet 1, Truong Long Hoa Ward, was formerly a teacher. She always taught her students to understand and be proud of the sea and islands. Even after retiring and joining the women's association in her hamlet, she remains an active advocate for the homeland's sea and islands.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Nem stated: "Each person, depending on their position and role, has the responsibility to safeguard the sovereignty of the sea and islands, demonstrating their love for the sea and islands of the Fatherland. Naval soldiers have the direct duty to protect the sea and islands, while local officials demonstrate their love for the sea and islands through other tasks appropriate to their locality. Within each family, parents need to understand and remind their children about patriotism from a young age, creating a solid foundation for teachers to further educate and nurture."
In Hamlet 1, veteran Tran Van Hoang expressed: "We participated in the resistance war and have a deep understanding of the sea and islands of our homeland. I regularly propagate this message so that many generations can understand, grasp, be proud of, and take responsibility for protecting the sea and islands of our homeland." He affirmed: "The spirit of patriotism is something that the entire people, the entire army, and the current young generation need to understand, to awaken patriotism and the responsibility to protect the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of our homeland."
It is affirmed that the sea and islands hold a particularly important and inseparable position within the territory, closely linked to the nation's history of nation-building and defense, and play a crucial role in the ecological environment, economic development, and people's lives.
Mr. Vo Thanh Do, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, stated: Propaganda regarding the sea and islands is a strategic and core task aimed at arousing patriotism and strengthening the great national unity. Besides updating knowledge, each individual needs to understand and disseminate accurate information about maritime and island sovereignty to others, contributing to preserving and fostering patriotism within the community.
