Amidst the vibrant red blossoms of the flamboyant tree and the buzzing of cicadas, marking the end of a year of hard work and dedication by teachers and students nationwide, the Coast Guard Region 1, in coordination with the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee, organized the "I Love My Homeland's Seas and Islands" competition at Dong Thanh Primary School.

According to Colonel Tran Van Nam, Head of Political Affairs of Coast Guard Region 1, the competition aims to propagate and educate students about Vietnam's seas and islands; the Vietnamese Law of the Sea; the Vietnamese Coast Guard Law; the glorious traditions of the Vietnamese Coast Guard; and at the same time contribute to fostering love for the homeland, raising awareness and responsibility of the younger generation towards the cause of protecting the sacred sovereignty of the nation's seas and islands.
The program began with spectacular artistic performances praising the homeland, country, sea, islands of Vietnam, and the Coast Guard soldiers, performed by officers and soldiers of Coast Guard Region 1 along with teachers and students from Dong Thanh Primary School, creating a lively and exciting atmosphere for the competition.
Within the framework of the competition program, meaningful activities took place: Coast Guard Region 1 donated some equipment and materials to Dong Thanh Primary School, along with 50 gifts and 20 bicycles for students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have strived to excel in their studies.
The highlight of the program was the "I Love My Homeland's Seas and Islands" competition, with the participation of 60 outstanding students representing nearly 1,300 students from the entire school. The students participated in many engaging and lively competitions covering topics such as Vietnam's seas and islands; Vietnamese Maritime Law; Vietnam Coast Guard Law; local history and culture; drug prevention and control; and school violence prevention. Through knowledge-based competitions, interactive activities, and painting sessions on the theme "The Homeland's Seas and Islands and the Coast Guard Soldier," the students of Dong Thanh Primary School demonstrated their understanding, pride, and deep affection for their homeland and country, and the noble image of the Vietnamese People's Army in the new era.

After exciting, engaging, and intense rounds of competition, the organizing committee awarded 1 first prize, 1 second prize, 2 third prizes, and 5 consolation prizes to the winning students.
Tran Hai Minh, a student in class 4C, couldn't hide her joy when she received the laurel wreath for the winner, sharing: "I'm very happy to have won first prize in the competition. I thank the adults for creating such a beneficial playground for us."
In addition, the organizing committee awarded 30 supplementary prizes in the painting competition with the theme "The Sea, Islands of the Fatherland and the Coast Guard Soldier" to the students of the school.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Suu, Principal of Dong Thanh Primary School, said: “The ‘I Love My Homeland’s Seas and Islands’ competition has left many positive impressions on delegates, officials, teachers, parents, and students of Dong Thanh Primary School. It is a valuable intellectual playground for officials, teachers, and students. The competition has contributed to strengthening the solidarity between the military and the people, improving the quality of Youth Union and Young Pioneer activities, and promoting youth movements in the locality. Through this, it continues to awaken national pride, love for the homeland’s seas and islands, and a sense of responsibility among the younger generation towards our beloved Vietnam.”
