Helping people save their rice crops in flooded fields.
In late May, following prolonged heavy rains, many rice fields in Dan Chu, Hoang Cuong communes and several other localities in Phu Tho province were submerged in water. Under the scorching summer sun, during the past two days off, hundreds of officers and soldiers of the 2nd Military Region's armed forces, along with local Party committees and authorities, urgently went to the fields, racing against time to help people harvest their rice crops before the floods.

In the rice paddies, flooded up to their chests, soldiers and militiamen waded through the water, carefully gathering bundles of rice for the people.
In some places, the water was nearly neck-deep, and the mud was so thick underfoot that movement was extremely difficult. Yet, for hours on end, the soldiers and militia members persevered, staying firmly in their fields, none leaving their positions. The image of the soldiers in their soaking wet, mud-stained uniforms, working together with the people amidst the rainy season and floods, further highlights the beautiful bond between the military and the people – the spirit of Uncle Ho's soldiers.
For the officers and soldiers of the armed forces of Military Region 2, each bundle of rice safely transported ashore is not only the result of the people's labor being preserved, but also a symbol of trust and practical sharing from the soldiers with the people during times of hardship and disaster.
The soldiers skillfully cut each clump of rice plants in waist-deep floodwaters.
The harvested rice is loaded onto boats as soon as it's picked and pushed ashore.
Each rice stalk was carefully wrapped and tied to prevent it from sinking underwater.
The soldiers helped the villagers harvest rice to escape the flood as if they were doing it for their own families.
While helping people harvest rice amidst the vast expanse of water, soldiers and militia also assisted villagers in threshing and drying the rice.
