Earlier, at approximately 1 PM on May 25th, the Giao Long Port Border Guard Station received a report from Mr. Nguyen Van Bon (born in 1987, residing in Thoi Loi 1 hamlet, Thoi Thuan commune) about rescuing a person in distress at sea. The victim was identified as Mr. Nguyen Tan Vong (born in 1992, residing in Thoi Thuan A hamlet, Thoi Lai commune, Can Tho City). While fishing at sea, Mr. Vong unfortunately fell into the water and drifted for several hours.

Upon discovering the victim in an exhausted state, Mr. Nguyen Van Bon and other fishermen quickly approached, organized a rescue operation, and brought him safely ashore. Immediately after receiving the report, officers and soldiers of the Giao Long Port Border Guard Station conducted an initial health check, provided clothing and necessary supplies, and offered emotional support to the victim.
According to authorities, Mr. Nguyen Tan Vong's health is now stabilizing. However, because they have not yet been able to contact his relatives, the unit is continuing to verify information and coordinate with relevant agencies to bring the victim back to his family as soon as possible.
