Hue is resplendent with colors celebrating Buddha's birthday and the Vesak Great Festival 2026.

GD&TĐ - These days, the streets of Hue are adorned with flags and flowers to welcome the Great Vesak Buddha's Birthday Celebration 2026 - Buddhist Calendar 2570.

This year, the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Hue City has set up 17 ceremonial platforms, including two central platforms located at Tu Dam Ancestral Temple and Dieu De National Temple, to hold the official ceremony along with the bathing ritual.

The monks at Dieu De Pagoda, where the Buddha bathing ceremony will take place, are urgently completing the final decorations to welcome the Buddha's birthday.

Venerable Thich Minh Duc shared: “During this year's festival, the temple is diligently decorating the grounds with items such as the main altar, flags, lanterns, and decorative lotus flowers. In particular, all items are illuminated to symbolize the wisdom of the Buddha, with the hope that the light of Buddhist teachings will spread far and wide. The temple will officially light up on the 8th day of the lunar month – the day the main festival begins.”

The gate of Dieu De Pagoda is brightly decorated in the colors of the Buddha's birthday season.

The monks proceeded to launch giant lotus flowers into the Perfume River.

The lotus flowers, arranged in a straight line on the Perfume River alongside a giant Buddhist flag, promise to be a special highlight of this year's Buddha's Birthday celebration.
